Awesome news! A mini album I created called My Fave was chosen by Northridge Publishing to be in their September issue of Create: Mini Albums!
I'm so excited! The magazine just came out, and I wanted to share some pics of my mini album here with you. I named the mini album My Fave because it's all about my relationship with my husband and how we always say to each other, "You're my favorite." It is a mini album I created to be a keepsake of our marriage.
The premise of the project is that every day over the course of several days, my husband and I would each write a journal entry in response to prompts that we came up with beforehand. And then we would pick out a favorite picture that corresponded well with our responses. The journal entries were based on prompts like, "Name one of your favorite things about your spouse." I put together all our journal entries and our pictures and did all the scrapping, and voila... I ended up with a really great album for us to keep and look at for years to come. It was also a really romantic experience and a fun project to do with my husband. It was like writing love letters to each other each day, mixed in with pictures and scrapbooking... What could be better? I think this is a really fun idea for any scrapbooker to do with their significant other. I highly recommend doing this album. Both my husband and I had a great time working on it together.
For this album, I decided to use the Maggie Holmes clipboard album along with a lot of the Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper collection, and also some Lucky Charm by Dear Lizzie for American Crafts, and a little bit of Fact or Fiction by Basic Grey. There is also a few scraps from October Afternoon, My Mind's Eye, and Cosmo Cricket, that I had in my stash. I also used a few Project Life cards from Becky Higgins and from the Studio Calico Project Life kits.
I really hope you like my mini album, and that you check out the magazine at www.northridgepublishing.com!
