Planning for a Lucky March...

I've been meaning to share with you my planner that I've been using for 2016. So today, since it's the last day of February, I thought I would show you how I've decorated my planner for March (the front page/dashboard, inside cover pockets,  & the March section of my planner). I decided to use the Maggie Holmes Bloom collection from Crate Paper. It's so ridiculously beautiful and I had to use it to decorate my planner so every time I plan, I can check out all the dreamy florals , the cute little springtime animals, and the magical gold glitters and foils spread across the pinks, greens and blues of this awesome "secret Garden" themed collection.

First I took my planner (a cute black and white Heidi Swapp one), and I put sweet little goodies from the Bloom collection in the inside cover pockets -- items that I thought would be useful for my planning, like decorative journal cards from the cut apart sheet,  a few pieces of ephemera from the ephemera pack, a big section of the gold foiled word stickers that I cut off from the Bloom sticker accents sheet, some of the rubber shapes, and some of the fringe hearts from the collection. I also added a few plain gold foil labels that I had and a couple paperclips too.

For the front page/dashboard  of my planner, I used a piece of the gorgeous gold floral foiled vellum from Bloom. I decorated it with ephemera tags and the "hello sunshine" sticker from the foiled clear stickers, as well as some of the floral pieces of ephemera. I also attached made a couple of decorative paperclips. I used a little light pink rose from the tiny paper flowers pack and hot glued it to one of my own pink paperclips and then I took one of the suede tassels from Bloom and tied it onto a little aqua paperclip so it would dangle, and then I secured that down with some hot glue and a little glitter heart. I also cut a piece of the 12x12 Together patterned paper to fit behind the vellum sheet so that you get a little peak of green and white stripe through the vellum.

When you turn to the March section of the planner, you find a piece of the Elsie patterned paper that I cut down to size as a kind of intro into March. I thought the green floral (which is one of my faves in the collection looked way cute as a nod to St. Patricks day and all the green that comes with it. On the page I used one of the rubber tags and some of the fun glitter thickers to spell out "Lucky", since March is all about the luck.

For the March calendar spread, I had fun playing with all the fun stickers that come in the Bloom accent stickers sheet. I left the butterfly sticker popped off the page so it looks like she has just landed there.

I was really inspired by the super adorable fringe hearts in the collection, so for a different sort of embellishment, I decided to take a piece from the cut apart sheet that looked like printed fringe, and I cut it into 4 strips along each colored section of fringe and then I cut into each section (following the fringe line on the print), and then I adhered the pieces down back like how they were onto a white piece of cardstock...so that, tada, I would have a cute fringed decorative piece to use like the hearts in the collection, and flip up the fringe for added depth and interest on the page.

Hope you like my planner and you try decorating yours with the beautiful Maggie Holmes Bloom collection from Crate Paper!
