Hey, it’s Andrea here! This Father’s Day, I wanted to give my Dad a special card to let him know how much he means to me. I usually just buy my Dad a card, but this year I wanted to make him one. I generally do a lot of mini album scrapbooking and not a lot of card making, but, lately I have been making more of an effort to create cards. I love that cards are a quick, easy and fun way to share one’s papercrafting with loved ones.
I decided for my Dad’s card, I wanted to use the Little You Collection from Crate Paper. I know the collection is supposed to be “baby themed", so you might think it’s just for kid’s cards. However, I thought the sweet collection would also work for a card given from a child to a parent. After all, I will always be my father’s daughter...his baby. I thought the Little You bear would be perfect for my card. It lets my Dad know that he will always be my Papa Bear and I will always love and appreciate all that he does for me!
As I started to make the card, I thought it might be nice to mix in some papers from Bloom by Maggie Holmes. I framed my sweet little bear with the pretty blue triangle patterned paper and the gray gingham one from Bloom. I attached this to the card I folded out of the black and white aztec patterned paper from Little You. I added little details to the card such as banners and some decorative stars from the Little You ephemera and sticker pack.
I added the words, “Hey Dad”, to the card by spelling out “Dad” with some alpha letters from the Shine Collection by Maggie Holmes. To spell out the “Hey”, I cut out the phrase from the Little You ephemera pack.
I decided to decorate the inside and the back a little bit, too. On the back, I added the chipboard piece that says “love you to the moon and back” because I really do love my father that much!
Happy Father’s Day to him and to all fathers who are so loved!
