Let's Get Digital - Easter Fun!

Hello there everyone! Even though it's a couple weeks late, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! And in celebration of this special time of year, I have made for you all some really cute printables! I will show you how to use these printables for a quick Easter scrappy project. You will see how to take my printables and your Citrus Twist April kits and some of those fun pics you took over the Easter weekend to play and make something really easy and pretty for your Easter memories!

So let's take a look at the printables. There is a large, 8x10 printable for a layout background (or you could use it for journaling too if you like), and there are pocket 3x4 card printables too! And there is an adorable bunny in the printables...yaaaaaay!

And now let's get started “gettin digital”, shall we? So first download your Easter printables and then print them out on nice cardstock (you could also use photo paper if you want to...matte would probably work best). And then look at those photos you took for Easter and pick a few of your faves out!  Choose a few of the ones that really pop out at you as being super cute. This isn't meant to be a huge Easter project, but just a fun, scrappy, happy Easter project where you can just make a quick layout or pocket page or both using your new printables.

I designed these printables to be easy to use. You can simply tuck the 3x4 pocket cards into a pocket page with some pics if you like. Maybe do a little bit of journaling and a wee bit of decorating with stickers or enamel dots or buttons and things and voila, you are done!

And I made it easy to use the large 8x10 printable to make a cool Easter layout too! What I did was automatically give you your background to build a layout on. And as you can see, I gave you a title with the “Happy Easter” at the top of the page. Then at the bottom, opposite corner from the title, I placed my sweet little bunny. And then there is a whole lot of white space for you to work with! All you have to do is frame this printable with some patterned paper from the Citrus Twist April kit! I love the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams paper in there and I couldn't choose between a couple of them so I decided to use a bit of both.

Once you have framed your printable, start building up on the page, in the white space. I cut out a frame from the frame patterned paper in the kit (also from Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams) and used that as a cute frame for my photo. I had printed a few photos out, but this one I think looked the cutest on my layout (so the others will be used later in a pocket page with my other printables). And then after I framed my pic, I backed it with a few layers. I used a couple pocket life cards from the Citrus Twist Pocket Life kit for April along with a few cut pieces of patterned paper from the Main kit.

I added some cute embellishments like the awesome Pinkfresh Studio paperclip and the lovely butterfly flair and the ephemera pack pieces that come exclusive in the kit. I also used some fun pop up stickers from Dear Lizzy that came in the Embellishment Add on kit.

For some extra depth, I popped up my cute printable bunny too! For this, I just printed out the 8x10 printable again and fussy cut out the bunny, then popped it up in it's spot with a pop-dot. And that was about it...a little sewing here and there and I was done! So simple and easy and fast!

Alright, well I hope you enjoyed this “let's get digital” with me today and that you enjoy your Easter printables! Bye everyone! And remember to “live your life as a fairytale”, as I always say!

Love Love Loving It! - A layout | Hip Kit Club

Hello Everyone! Today I’m excited to share with you a layout and a tag I made with the theme of “beautiful blooms”! I love flowers and I always have. Roses…especially the mini roses that are often called fairy or “pixie” roses! Those are my favorites! I wanted to scrapbook this picture of an outing with my hubby Ryan where he had me pick out some roses. I picked up a ton of the bouquets because they were all so lovely!

For my layout using this picture I decided to use the awesome flower cut-files for this month along with our awesome August Hip Kit club kits! I used both the flowers designed by Ashley Horton and the ones designed by Kim Watson and I combined them in this layout with some of the pretty floral patterned paper that comes in the kit.

I used the Saturday by Dear Lizzy yellow flowered paper and did some fussy cutting of the blooms. For my background, I layered a few different sheets of patterned paper up from Crate Paper and Dear Lizzy, to create a nice frame for my floral bouquet of a layout!

For my embellishments, I used a variety of elements that I thought added a lot of depth and charm to the look of my layout. I sprinkled pink enamel dots here and there from the Cute Girl mixed embellishment pack and added a little golden bow from that pack to the top of my layout too.

For my title, I used the script word “love” from the Amy Tangerine ephemera pack (which I painted pink to match the pinks in my layout), the cool black and white chipboard thickers to spell “love”, and the phrase “loving it” which I cut out of the Oh Happy Life cut apart sheet, and together these spelled out “love, love, loving it”. My title, of course, referring to my love of these amazing roses which just always put a smile on my face….and so does my awesome hubby who still remembers to buy me flowers every once in a while, just because!

For my little tag, I decided to reflect my layout and do a cute little tag, cut from some of the Dear Lizzy Saturday small floral patterned paper, a little phrase I cut out from the Amy Tangerine ephemera pack that says “good times” and one of the lovely floral cutfiles which I painted! I hope you like my layout and my tag and that I have inspired you to have some fun with flowers on your scrappy projects today!

TMNT Layout | Hip Kit Club

Hey Everybody!!! I want to share with you a fun layout that I did using the June Hip Kit Club kits!

My husband and I went to see the movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, one day in June and it was super awesome! It reminded me of being a kid again, watching the old TMNT movies with my big brother and my Dad. The movie is so bright and hearkens back to the awesome stylings of the late 80's and early 90's so I had to make this layout something that captures that same feeling of vibrant, bold playfulness while still feeling modern! Plus I wanted to use a bunch of greens for the turtles! The June kits were perfect for this because they are so vibrant and colorful. And the Fancy Free paper by Paige Evans from Pink Paislee really helped me build a cool geometric frame for my tubular turtle pic! I used some paint to create a big bold title for my layout and I painted one of the Jilibean Soup wood veneers too and made a paperclip. I sprinkled my page with embellishments from the kit that I thought fit well with the theme, like the tv and the movie camera in the Becky Higgins Project Life Ephemera Pack. I also played with some of the fun Hip Kit exclusive puffy stickers and a couple of the June Hip Kit cutfiles (by moi :-) . I also used some of the cute Crate Paper rubber shapes that I thought went well with the color scheme of my page....Well, I hope you like my totally awesome Turtle Layout and that you are inspired to make something that takes you back to your childhood using the June Hip Kits! Cowabunga!!!
