PL Week 26 | 2016

Hey lovely ladies ! Welcome to the blog. It's Mindi with you again for another pocket page post. As promised I am here with the other side of the spread that I shared last time. 

This is week 26 from 2016. Let's start out with the title card. The new June kit came with two of this gorgeous watercolor sheets of paper. I cut one of them up and used it for my title card. Then I started to play around with the die cut pieces and stickers to see what would look good. I used the letters and then some numbers for the Week 26. 

This heart cut apart card was perfect for my journaling card. I needed some pink over on this side to balance out all the blues. I added some journaling and then added a label and a date. The photo next to it is a photo from when we drove up the coast to see the sea lions on the beach. 

The bottom left corner photo is when we had a little art activity for the kids. They each picked something to paint. 

I really loved this patterened paper. The heart geotags are so cute. I added some letters to spell out ART. It turned out that there was a word strip that said summer. It was perfect. 

I cut up one of the die cuts and stuck it underneath the photo. 

Here are a few more close ups of this page. I really loved how this one turned out. The colors are amazing and I look forward to creating more with this June kit called Storytime.

Best Ever Layout

Hello everyone! Enza here, and today I'm back with a layout featuring the Storytime kit. The first think I usually do when I get a kit or collection is looking at all the patterned papers and different elements to see how I can transform them somehow.  I'll show you in a second what I mean. Here is the layout:

The inspiration here came from the Black Pearl patterned paper. I thought I could fussy cut the images and make them look like stars or flowers by just placing them in a circular shape. As the color was very similar to the ones in the paper I chose as background, I decided to back them with white card stock to create some separation. Hand-stitching was also added for extra texture.

Next, I fussy cut lots of lovely roses and just created clusters around the page. The wood buttons fit perfectly in the middle of my shapes.

The little sentiment stickers are adorable.

To finish the layout, I just added a strip of patterned paper on the right side of the page.

July's "Sweet!" Kit Reveal: Part 1 (Embellishments)

Hello all! So we are going to try something new this time around and break the upcoming Kit Reveal into sections (embellishments, 12x12 paper, planner dividers)...with several posts over the course of this week and with one long "full" reveal at the end! Yaaay!!! So here we go with part 1 of our new July "Sweet!" collection/kit -- the embellishments...

I am so super excited about this new "Sweet!" collection! It is a collection inspired by several different fairytales (which I will reveal in our last kit reveal post), which is what we do with all our kits. And as with all our kits, there is a major theme that can be found in all of the inspirational fairytales, as well as several smaller themes. So this month, the big theme is to sum up "I am me, and that's ok"...and it is basically about being yourself, and accepting and being happy with who you are...because who you are is in a word pretty "Sweet!'! There are lots of cute little themes though that can be found throughout the collection too -- like summertime, music, rainbows, believing,  and of course, yummy edible sweeeeeeets!

The embellishments for "Sweet!" are so adorable and include some of my favorite pieces. For one thing, I am loving the ephemera pack for July and specifically the happiness of the bright, rainbow colors, the great cheerful and inspirational sentiments, and of course, the awesome unicorn!!! It's a rainbow unicorn to be exact...and she is amazing!!!!

I think it is really cool that we have elements in the collection that relate to song and music this month, I think music has become an integral part of fairytales in modern culture. Music is also just so essential to us as people and will always be an important aspect of our daily lives. We express ourselves through music and songs themselves are a form of fairytale -- as they each tell a story. I really like the little, vintage record player that you can find in the ephemera pack...it just makes me happy! I also think that the music theme is perfect for summer -- I don't know why, but when it's summertime, I just feel like music is constantly playing!

I am also really digging the ice-creams, popsicles, and other sweet treats in the kit. I also feel like sweets are consumed a lot during this time of year...but maybe its just me who's sweet tooth gets really strong in the summer sunshine!! LOL!!!! And even though it is really simple, I am also really digging the yellow notebook paper ephemera piece...it's a great little bit to do some journaling on for your planner, layout, mini album, card, etc.

So the ephemera is fantastic to say the least, I mean I just mentioned a few of my fave things in the pack...but let's move on now to another awesome embellishment for this month -- the puffy alpha stickers. I think the coolest thing about these alpha stickers is that you get the awesome font in two different, bright and fun summertime colors -- fabulous pink and brilliant blue! So cool, right?!! I don't know about you, but I am excited to use them separately but also mix them together so that I can have a single word that is like "pink, blue, pink, blue...". It makes for a great look on your papercrafting project. Yay!!!

Alright, now let's take a look at the gorgeous wood veneer, gold foiled, colored heart embellies that come in the July kit. I myself, love a good heart! I have always loved hearts and I find them particularly useful when working on basically any and all papercrafting projects. They are great for layouts, planner decorating, mini-albums, cards, home-decor pieces...and they just go with any theme you can possibly think of! I know I am going to use all of these up asap! I am loving the ice-cream colors -- the peach and the pink and the blue and the mint! And with the gold foil?!!! They feel like ice-cream cones that I want to eat...in other words they are so yummy!

And last but not least, for our "Sweet" embellishments, is our label/tiny word sticker sheet. We like to do these each month because they are just so useful. And in addition to being great for different themed projects, they work for all types of papercrafters. Our planner girls love them, our traditional scrappers love them, and our mini-album and project lifers find them especially useful for their pocket-pages! The label stickers are super cute as always and perfect to add some writing or to stamp on! I think you are going to love these ones as we have added gold foiling touches to all of them and they are all in bright, fun colors! I also think you are going to love the words and phrases that we did this month! There are stickers that say "vacation", "road trip", "sunny" and "swim" that are perfect for summer. There are also lots of words and phrases that are perfect for any time of year and any theme, like "always remember", "togetherness", "so fun", and "dreaming". And we have some really great ones this month that are reflective on emotion and our reality -- which is not always perfect -- but that are also really helpful, inspirational, and supportive! These include words and phrases like "sadness", "happiness", "life is strange", "shake it off", "be positive", "imperfect", "worth it" and "one of a kind". All of these are part of our over-arching theme in the "Sweet" collection which, as I said, is about being yourself, and being ok with yourself! 

Alright, that is it for our embellishments for July's "Sweet!". I think this new July collection/kit is my favorite...although I say that about all of them!!! I just am digging it all! I especially love the color scheme and the feel of the collection. These colors are just perfect for summer 2017 and the collection as a whole expresses a kind of ice-creams by the beach, listening to great music, happy with who you are, rainbow and blue skies...while you hang with a unicorn...kind of vibe! June Travelers Notebook Journal Layout

Happy Friday everyone!! I don't know about you, but I think I squealed out loud when I opened June's kit this month! All of the pink and blues were making me drool at the mouth! 

I grabbed my travelers notebook and updated my scrapbook journal right away! Hope you enjoy taking a peek inside!

Sweet and Simple Traveler's Notebook Spread

Hello everyone! My name is Enza, and I am so excited and honored to be a guest designer for the Fairytale Club this month! Thank you, Andrea, for inviting me to join you and your amazing team.

A little bit about myself...

I was born and raised in Italy. I moved to the United States twelve years ago to follow my heart. I’ve been married to Michael since 2004 and we have three very energetic kids who keep our days full and very very busy. I have always loved playing with pretty papers, stickers, and fun embellishments, but only started scrapbooking in 2008. It has become a passion of mine, a way to express my creativity and document our memories in a fun and colorful way. Not paper crafting related... I can't leave without coffee and chocolate :)

Today I am sharing a spread in my Traveler's Notebook using the beautiful Storytime kit. I absolutely love all the pretty colors in it. Pink, purple and aqua/teal are my absolute favorite. I also have a thing for ephemera pieces, and this kit is packed full with them. Here is what I came up with:

I started by covering the pages with two different patterned papers. I think the combination of pink and aqua is just lovely, and works perfectly for the sweet picture of my daughter hugging her grandma.

Before placing the label stickers under the left side of the photo, I cut them in half as I wanted to give my spread a more cohesive look by repeating some of the elements on the opposite page.

The same idea was behind the roses I fussy cut from the "Belle" patterned paper. Some are peeking out from the top right corner of the photo, one single rose is in the cluster at the bottom of the other page.

A few colorful sequins and my journaling finished the spread.

Setting up my Planner with the June "Storytime" Kit

Good morning everyone! Sarah here this morning to share with you a spread in my memory planner. And man am I so excited to be using the June "Storytime" Kit! It is so beautiful! I have a things for purple and this kit has it!

I do memory planning, but just like a lot of other planner girls, I do a little bit of set up before the month starts. The spread I'm sharing with you today is the last few days of June and the Start of July. 

I started out by choosing a paper from the kit.This was harder then I thought it was going to be. But I decided on the one with the pretty two toned hearts and cut it down to fit the right hand side of the page. I tend to cover this portion, because its already colored in my planner, so I cover it, I dont always do this, but most of the time. After I have that adhered down I choose a washi tape that I want to use, this kit has a lot of gold in it so I chose a gold washi tape. To be honest, I love to use the gold washi anyways, lol. 

At this point I start to play a little with embellishments, inserts, tags and other things. I remembered seeing this "Hi" planner page and I thought that it would be a great way to bring in July! So I punched it so it would fit in my planner and then grabbed the beautiful chipboard alphas and wrote July in different colors. Then I went back and grabbed that cute little crown and added it to the top of the insert.

I did add a few pieces from the ephemera pack. A few of the pretty gold foiled hearts, wrote in things that I knew were happening on these days and added a few other bits here and there. But I did make sure to leave quite a bit open because I know I will add pictures and more journaling.

M is for Mermaid | Pocket Page

Hey guys, its me Mindi. I was so excited to receive my June kit yesterday that I got right down to business and got busy creating with it. This one is so very fun and full of possibilities. And the colors, don't get me started. They are so very pretty. 

Anyways, let's get down to business. Today I have a pocket page spread. This one is part of my week 26 from 2016. I am going to be sharing the right side with you today and then I will finish up the other side for my next blog post. 

Once I saw this kit had a mermaid theme, I knew it would work for this particular week.  We went to the beach and to the pool. So it seemed to fit. I used one of the letters from the letter pack and then added a few quotes about mermaids underneath. 

This first journaling card I used some of this green patterned paper and added some of the die cuts from the package and a few word strips. The photo below that is one from one of our favorite local eating establishments. 

I added another photo from the beach. It is my daughter sitting on one of the rocks there on the shore. Totally mermaid like right ?!!! 

The top right hand side photo is of us playing glow in the dark bowling on Friday night. I had planned a fun family night with a mystery dinner, then bowling and we ended up all in the swimming pool in the dark. 

This summer magic card was one that looked like the paper I was taking score with that night while we were playing bowling. I added a few embellishments to it and I love how it turned out. The photo next to it is of us at the pool. My son was the first one to jump in. 

Here is another look at this spread. I really love how the colors all flowed real nicely this week. 

One last close up of this mermaid journaling card. This card talks all about our lunch date at Salty's.
