Hello Everybody! Carrie here with a new spread in my Project Life album using the GORGEOUS Happy Day Kit. I had a lot of fun playing with this product but initially couldn't decide what to start out with because there were too many amazing things to choose from ; ) Eventually, I decided to begin by cutting the large house out of one of the planner inserts. I cut three of the windows out, the heart at the top, and three sides of the door using my Exacto knife. Then I layered photos behind each, including the door. Below you can see the photo of my daughter's face peeking through.
Next, I decided to add yellow embroidery to different parts of the house. I chose yellow to help with the flow of yellow from the flowers in my photos. Once I had my house mostly complete I chose the beautiful flower paper from the kit as my background for a full 6x12 inch page. To ground my house on the paper I added a thin white border just at the bottom, as well as a strip of blue tickets which I cut from another lovely 12x12 sheet of paper.
Since I wanted to make the house pop a bit more I then layered some white and green leaves around the left and right sides. The leaves I made using a Tim Holtz die called Garden Greens, some plain white cardstock, and a little green pow glitter paper. As a final touch for this side of my spread, I decided to use my tiny heart punches and some more white cardstock. I popped up three hearts to look like they are coming out of the chimney of the house and called this side done.
On the opposite side of the spread, I had two 4x6 inch photos and two empty 3x4 inch pockets. I decided to make a filler card by cutting down one of the 12x12 papers with blue and white strips and adding three of the hearts from the die cut pack. Then to continue with the theme from the other page I decided to use yellow embroidery down the middle of each heart and layer more of the white and green leaves. I love how easy this card was to make and how it turned out.
To complete this spread I added one final 3x4 inch card using plain white cardstock. I wrote the journaling with my typewriter, popped up the word "sweet" from the die cut pack, and used some yellow puffy alpha stickers from Studio Calico to write "HOME". Lastly, I decided to use one of the periods / small squares from the yellow alpha pack to add a bit of color to the door handle of my house. All done.
I hope you enjoyed this little project share and I'll see you next time!
