Hey everyone! Tiffany here with a little self-reflective spread in my planner. I’m keeping this planner like a personal development/vision board type of thing. Sort of like a real-life Pinterest board where I add quotes and maybe the occasional magazine cut out, but it’s basically a place to play. I find myself just snipping and sticking things into this planner just to have something fun and enjoyable to do. So it’s not really a true memory planner or anything, though I do find myself journaling little bits of how I’m feeling or what I’m thinking about in that moment. So it’s sort of like a memory planner in that way, since when I do add journaling it’s more self-reflective and about me.
So for this spread, I did a bit of self-reflecting on self-love. I used a recent selfie that I took of myself and played around with different papers from the kits. I tried my hardest to just stick with the new Happy Day kit, but in my true fashion bits from previous kits found their way onto my project! So a few bits from Take Note and Jolly, I believe. Anyway, I began by building a cluster around my photo. I layered papers from Happy Day and Take Note, along with some white tissue paper packaging, an old book page, and a white doily. I ripped most the of papers because I liked the texture it creates. I also intentionally used the side of the book page that says “Through the Looking Glass,” because this spread is about self-reflection; sort of like me looking in the mirror at myself. I thought it was serendipitously appropriate.
When I have my cluster, I begin my embellishing. I first put down a few of the floral die cuts from the Happy Day ephemera pack, tucking them in between layers of the ripped paper. I add the days of the week washi tape strip so that it peeks out from behind the cluster too. I also add two “love” bits from the Jolly kit: one is a clear gold foil sticker and the other a piece of branding strip. I use a white foam “loved” sticker that I had in my stash as my title. I sprinkle some enamel dots from my stash, along with a heart sticker from Take Note layered with a foam heart on top of it. I then finish off this page with a few random pen scribbles.
On the opposite page to my photo cluster, I have my journaling. I basically typed it all up on my computer then print it on some American Crafts textured cardstock and cut it down to size to fit over my Heidi Swapp memory planner pages. Before I glued it down though, I ran it through my sewing machine to give it a rather wonky sewn border. I love the added texture that gives to the page. I then taped it down with some sturdy double-sided tape, and ruffled up the edges a bit.
And that’s it! Like always, I keep everything super simple and on the minimalistic side, as my nature. I really hope you like this spread and remember, you can keep your memory planner however you want. You don’t always have to tell a story day to day. Sometimes journaling about how you are or how you see yourself now, is the story.
