Hi everyone! It's Laura back to share a colorful, summer layout with you all. I received my "Tiki, I Love You" kit in the mail yesterday and I couldn't way to get it out to play. The colors are perfect for documenting all the special summer activities. I didn't have any photos of anything quintessentially summery, like swimming or going to the beach that I hadn't already scrapped, however, I did have a nice picture of my dog in his new summer bandanna and a brand new wide format printer just waiting to be tested. I decided to print out my photo in 5x7" and let the products give the layout the perfect summer feel.
I started with the blue and green "In Summer" paper which was the base for my whole color palette. After backing my photo with one of the A5 dividers (I often use the dividers as pre-cut patterned paper!), and adding my title, I pulled out all the green and blue die cuts from the die cut pack. I loved the butterflies, but the pink didn't go with my colors of the layout, so I simply altered them by painting a light wash of watercolor paint over the top of the pink. I altered a few more of the die cuts with the same color of watercolor paint to make the layout feel cohesive. To finish off I hand stitched a border with white embroidery floss around the edge of the layout and added a few enamel dots. It all came together quickly thanks to the beautiful kit and left plenty of time to enjoy the summer evening weather by taking a nice walk with my pup. Happy crafting!
