Hi all! Aimee here, sharing a layout with the brand new kit “Tiki, I Love You”
Oh, my gosh you guys, this kit is so awesome. I almost didn’t want to use it because all the pieces are SO cute. I don’t know if I will ever be able to use some of the 12x12 paper because they are just SO cute.
But pulled myself together and I finally decided to scrap a photo from our trip to Key West earlier this year. I think it was the perfect photo for this kit. I can’t wait to scrap the rest!
I went to one of my all-time favorite sketches for this one. I also scaled it down to an 8.5x11 size {since that’s the size I have most comfortable scrapping lately}.
I also love this sketch because you can showcase a bunch of your favorite 3x4 pocket cards in one project.
I started by cutting up all the pieces from the “on the go” 12x12. I choose 3 of the 3x4 cards.
For the 4th card, I used one of the personal dashboards and cut it to size.
The photo I used was landscape, which doesn’t really work with this sketch, so I printed it as a 5x7 photo and cut it down to 2.75x3.75 so it would be just smaller than my cards. I used foam adhesive to “pop” it off the page. Before adhering it to the page I stapled the “beach” flag to the photo.
I layered the palm tree over the photo with more foam adhesive and slipped some thread under the photo for a more dimensional look.
I was playing with the words and came across “tropical” I just knew I had to use it.
This was perfect because this trip to key west was totally a tropical adventure. I used more foam adhesive to “pop it off the page and layer it over the cards.
I date stamped my page and stitched on the cards and called it complete!
Do you have a “go to” sketch that you go to?
XOXO, Aimee
