A Quick Look at Our Mad Tea Party!!!...and some important news!

Hi All!!! It's Andrea here! I am so busy right now trying to get a million things done for some cool upcoming stuff (in the next few days)...stay tuned for that! But really quickly, I wanted to talk to you all about our amazingly, super duper awesome Mad Tea Party event at Disneyland on June 2nd!!! We had sooooooo much fun!!! I feel so lucky to have gotten to meet so many super awesome ladies and to have had so much fun at Disneyland with them...crafting, hanging out, going on rides, etc!!! I loved our tea party lunch and how cute everything looked! I loved the memory-planner that we worked on, the pics that we took, the fun we had with all the prizes....and then afterwards, our walk around the park was so amazing!!! Thank you to everyone who participated in our first event!!! Everything was just so special and felt like a fairytale dream come true!!!

I want to let the ladies who came to the event know that the gallery with the pics from the event will be up sometime tomorrow I believe. I will notify you all of this so we can make sure everyone who came gets access to all the pics that they want from that day.

The class lessons for the project we started at the event (the memory planner) will be going up soon as well..it will go up in the next couple of days. This Mad Tea Party online class will also be available for purchase for those who did not attend the event. So those who attended the event, this class is included with your purchase of the event and you will get automatic access to it when it goes up....anyone else who wants the class can purchase it (when it goes up for purchase) and then you can take the class and make a fun memory-planner too!.

The special, exclusive "Mad Tea Party" collection/kit will also be available for purchase for anyone who didn't come to the event who wants to purchase it! That kit will be revealed tomorrow and go up for purchase! Yaaaaaaay!

I also want to say that because our Mad Tea Party launch event went sooooo great, we will be having more events like this in the future! Stay tuned to find out when the next one is!!! We know we definitely want to do a Halloween themed one in October...so excited about that! We may do one more before that one though as well (possibly in August). We will let you know!

Alright, happy planning and scrapping everyone and....

Remember to live your life as a Fairytale!!!

So Happy/Sarah

Hello everyone!

Sarah here today with my first layout as part of the Fairytale club design team, and oh man am I so excited!!

Today I'm sharing my first layout with the May, Girly and Strong kit! This kit is so beautiful! It was so hard for me to even cut into these papers, but I managed! lol I started going through this kit when I got it and saw all the bows and it made me think of this bow cut-file that I had sitting in my computer and I had never used. I decided to cut that out and started backing some of the bows with the pretty papers.

After I backed the ones I was going to back, I went back through the papers again to find my background papers. Once I chose my background, I adhered the cut-file down, layered a few of the color blocks from the cut apart sheet to my photo and popped it up on some 3D foam.

I added one of the pretty wooden paperclips to the top left of the photo. Then I broke into the ephemera die-cut pack and started on my embellishment clusters

I usually add at least 3 embellishment clusters around my layout. I don't always fallow that rule, the visual triangle rule, but I do find myself doing that quite a bit. I added some pretty sequins for some bling and was done.

I had a blast making this layout and cant wait to break into the next one!

NSD Challenge - A Happily Ever After

Hi Everyone, Andrea and Vanessa here today to share with you a fun Fairytale challenge that is all about planning & documenting your own Happily Ever After!  So for this challenge, what we want  you to do is plan or scrap about the person or persons who have given you the "happily ever after" in  your life! So make something about the person or people you love and show how they have changed your life! Specifically those you love in a non-romantic way -- like your family and friends.

In Fairytales, there is often a Prince Charming or some fairytale romantic figure who falls for and saves the heroine and they both "live happily ever after". Sometimes in life though, a "happily ever after" is not always about romantic love. In the case of Vanessa, she has recently had a beautiful baby named Patrick who has changed her life and brought great love into it! See how she documents her brand new baby boy in her planner, with her dashboard spread. Vanessa used the "my favorite-est" 3x4 card from the kit to show how much this new addition to her family means to her.

Now we leave it to you to follow along with this challenge... You can plan or scrap or do some other papercrafting project...but the point is to document the person or people who have made your life one that is lived "happily ever after"...well, at least mostly, right?! And especially those in your life that you love in a non-romantic way...like your kids, siblings, best friends, parents, etc.

Good luck with the challenge and have fun!  Remember to share what you do on our Facebook page, The Fairytale Club Facebook Group ! Share in the share thread for this challenge and get a chance to win a gift certificate for The Fairytale Club!!! You can also share on instagram with the hashtags #thefairytaleclub #fairytalechallenge #nsdpart2 ...and make sure to specify which challenge you are doing in your post.

Fairytale Note: Think of the movie Frozen when you do this challenge. This movie is so great because it has the traditional "happily ever after" fairytale "true love" that is romantic (i.e. the love between Kristoff and Anna), but also the familial "true love" that is so beautiful and just as important and impactfull for a persons' "happily ever after" (i.e. the love between Anna and Elsa). Think about how much the two sisters love each other, what they do and sacrifice for one another...and think about how beautiful the love of family is!

NSD Challenge - The Every day sort of Fairytale

Hello everyone ! It's Mindi here with you today. I am going to be sharing my NSD 2 Challenge and of course it involves fairytales. My challenge for you today is to capture and document the every day sorts of Fairytales that make up your life.

Your version of Every Day Fairytale may be hanging out at home with your family, or it may be going exploring to a place that you have never been. Pocket Pages are the perfect home for this challenge. I chose to document a spread in my Week In The Life album from this year. You don't have to use pocket pages though. Make a traditional page, TN spread, or even a planner page to document what makes up your Every Day Fairytale.

This spread is in my WITL album is from Wednesday. Most of the photos are from when the kids and I went out to one of their favorite local places, the park. I cut that cute strip from one of the cut apart sheets.

My challenge inspiration primarily came from this quote. I just love it ! I added it onto some of this yellow patterened paper and added the bow on top.

Here are few more photos from our afternoon at the park.

Okay that is it for me. I turn it over to you all to create something using your version of an ever day Fairytale. The possiblilities are endless.

Fairytale Note: Think of the movie "Up" and the characters Carl and Ellie, when you do this challenge! They are an everyday couple living a "normal" life, but really they are having this incredible fairytale adventure everyday of their lives together because that is what real love is (and this is what Carl realizes at the end of the movie)! Love and all those little, beautiful things that we do in our lives with our loved ones -- that is what counts and it all adds up to an incredible, wondrous, magical fairytale!!! So document your everyday fairytale with the people you love today!!! (P.S. Notice how Carl and Ellie are scrapbookers...they documented their fairytale adventure that was their everyday life in a scrapbook album and I just love that)!!!

NSD Challenge- Break out of your comfort zone

Hey everyone! Becky here! I'm so excited to share with you my challenge for our NSD part 2 celebration!  My favorite part of fairytales is when the protagonist has to step out of their comfort zone, either by setting out on their adventure, standing up to evil, or falling in love! So my challenge to you is to step out of your comfort zone! So you might try doing a layout on a planner page or attempt to go tiny with a little 3x4 mini album, just try something you've always been a little hesitant to and see where the adventure takes you!

FullSizeRender.jpg

I did that by doing an 8.5x11 layout, this might not seem like a challenge to most but for someone who exclusively scraps in planners and pockets this was a huge leap out of my comfort zone! And I absolutely love the finished result... I can see a whole album filled with these fun layouts!

Fairytale Note: Think of Rapunzel when you do this challenge! She totally broke out of her comfort zone when she left her tower and went into the outside world for the first time in her life!... She had an adventure and tried new things and it changed her like for the better! So be like Rapunzel and try something new!!

Disney Magic

Hello everyone ! It's Mindi here again with you here today. I am going to be sharing some pages that I created for my second project this month using Girly and Strong.

Recently I have been working on creating a separate Disney album. We recently had annual passes and went frequently over the span of a year. So I have soooo many fun photos to scrapbook.

I have always love Merry Go Rounds ever since I was a kid. They have one in Fantasy Land at Disneyland and there are Merry Go Round horses throughout this collection. I decided to scrap some of my Disney photos using this collection. Let's get started shall we. Here is a look at my first set of pages.

The colors in and around Fantasy Land are a great match with the Girly and Strong collection. I printed out 2 4x4 photos for this left side of my spread. One is of the kids eating some treats and another one is of Katelyn on Dumbo. This page protector is from Simple Stories and it has this fun 2x8 pocket. I cut down some of the patterened paper and used it as a journaling space along with some fun embellishments.

I really love the patterns on the planner pages. They are great additions to your album and can add a different size to your albums as well. I am using one of the smaller size here. On the top I added a photo and then some journaling and embellishments on the bottom.

Here is what the other side looks like. Again I love this planner page and it was perfect for these set of photos of my son on the Merry Go Round.

I left the planner page pretty plain to make sure the adorable unicorn was the center of attention. Although I did a few fun embellishments and stamps to the bottom. Here is a close up.

On the right side is where I have some photos of my son Noah and also his grandma and grandpa who were there with us at the time. So that makes it extra special.

I chose to go with this Stay Weird card for this page. It was the perfect fit for these set of photos. Noah always loves to be silly when I am trying to be serious and take his photo.

I am really happy with how this all came together. This kit is so versatile and the colors are my favorites. Thanks for joining me today. See you all next time.

6x8 Project Life Spread | Jen Schow

Hello again! It's Jen Schow here to share my last project as May guest designer with you. This year, I started doing a 6x8 Project Life and I love the small size! I like to keep it very simple and use lots of photos because I don't have quite as much room.

Today, I wanted to share with you how I still achieved a playful, but simple look using the Girly & Strong kit to document the week of March 20-26 (I document from Monday to Sunday).

To keep in line with my usual PL style, which is mostly black and white with pops of color, I chose black scripted phrases from the ephemera pack and cut the word "Friday" out of one of the patterned papers.

I often take my photos in such a way that there is a lot of "white space" for me to add journaling and embellishment directly to the picture. I added bits and pieces from the ephemera pack and some of the little phrase stickers in the open spaces for this week.

One of my favorite additions was one of the wood paperclips. They are fairly thin and don't add much bulk, so they are perfect. Instead of attaching it to something, I just put it right on top of my photo and the clip part kind of looks like an arrow pointing to my feet...cute!

I hope you can see how this bright and colorful kit can be used to create all sorts of layouts and projects - even with a bit of toned down color scheme!

Thanks so much for letting me share my projects with you this month. I can't wait to see what you've been making!

Jen
