Our 2017-2018 Design Team!

We're so excited to announce our design team today! We're so grateful to everyone who applied. We got so many amazing applications and it was a very tough choice. You've seen some posts from a few of them already but we'd like to introduce the whole group:

Andrea

Hi! My name is Andrea Bethke, and I am a scrappy Latina living in sunny Southern California who believes in unicorns and mermaids and all things magical.  In fact, I believe in fairytales, and you may know me as Fairytale Scrapbook on Instagram and Youtube! I am married to a super amazing, Prince Charming of a hubby named Ryan, and we live in a little house with a sweet Chihuahua-Terrier named Leeloo.

I love, love, love to create! It is incredibly important to me not just because I find it fun but because it literally helps me get through the day. In fact, you may not know this, but I have a rare condition called CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) which causes me to constantly be in pain...and often it's really, really bad or even excruciating pain. There is no cure and because of it I struggle with limited mobility, and I'm often stuck in bed. I get through it all with the help of my God, the truest of true love of my husband, and a whole lot of scrapbooking! Yes, I looooove scrapbooking. To me, it is not just a hobby, but something that has helped me work through the pain.

My motto is to live your life as a fairytale, which to me means that I want to live my life with courage and imagination and much love, the way they do in fairytales! I accomplish this by writing my own story with my own happily ever after!

My love of fairytales has not only had an impact on my motto but also on my scrappy style! I love the look of whimsical and beautiful things in scrapbooking. I am definitely very girly and I also love vintage things. I am very inspired by Disney, especially vintage Disney.

I am super duper excited to have started this new journey with The Fairytale Club!  It has been my dream for a long time to design my own scrapbook and planner collections, and I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to start my own company! I hope you will join me in being part of the club! I know it's going to be a wonderful fairytale adventure!

So now you know a lot about me... and in closing I just want to encourage you to live your life as a fairytale because I think we all have the opportunity to be the heroine of our own story and write our own happily ever afters!

Adeline

I'm Adeline French, 33 years old, mum of two pirates and married to my charming Prince. My life is full of boy things so my wonderland world is pink and glitter!!! I love shopping and Disneyland. I discovered scrap and planner world in 2015 and now it is an addiction. When I play with my planner I forget everything it's my own time like I am in other world. What I love is watching Disney films during my planner time.

Allie

My name is Allie, and I'm a Chiropractic Assistant living in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. I've been married to the man of my dreams, Michael, for five wonderful years. We love Disney, Star Wars, and Doctor Who! I've been scrapbooking since 2006, when I got a job at a paper store as a high schooler. It's been true love ever since! If I'm not scrapbooking, you'd find me reading a good book, drinking coffee, or singing at the top of my lungs to Disney music. I'm excited to join the Fairy Tale club team!

Carolee

Hi there! I'm Carolee. I'm a full time crafter and blogger originally from the east coast but now living in sunny LA with my hubby and two corgis. I come from a long line of crafty ladies, but I first got into Project Life back in 2013 and since then, my obsession's only grown! Right now, I focus mainly on planners and traveler's notebooks, but I dabble in just about everything. I also love Disney (including Marvel and Star Wars), animals but especially unicorns,

Enza

I was born and raised in Italy but moved to the U.S. almost thirteen years ago to be with the love of my life. I am passionate about photography and all forms of memory keeping. Scrapbooking was non-existent for me growing up and only started being my creative outlet in 2008. My style has definitely changed over the years, becoming more detailed and colorful, while still being clean and simple. I enjoy working for Design Teams and always love a good challenge when it comes to my creativity. Spending time with my husband and three kids is my absolute favorite.

Henny

My name is Henny. I'm 35 years young and I'm a stay at home mom to my 2 little kids. I'm originally from Indonesia, came to the States in the year of 2006. I was introduced to the scrapbooking world by my husband at 2007, and I'm hooked ever since. But I have always been loving doing crafts since I was a  little kid 😊. I have always put my time, care and effort into everything I do when it comes to creativity/crafting. Aside from planning, I also do enjoy doing scrapbooking, Card-making, DIY projects, etc.

Kim

Kim is a 41year old mother to 4 sporty, smelly and sweet boys ranging in the ages of 5 to 17 and lucky enough to be married to my favorite person in the world who lets her be a stay at home mom.  When not doing laundry,  this ex-fiber arts teacher loves memory keeping by scrapbook and pocket pages and to creatively plan to make sure she don't routinely forget someone at some sports practice!  Don't let all that household testosterone fool you, this bubbly ex-pageant girl knows her sparkle and sass which you'll find sprinkled throughout her projects!

Odessa

Hi, I'm Odessa and I love all things colourful, fun and sparkly! I obsessively take photos and got into memory keeping as a way to get all those pictures of my family, our fun adventures and too many cups of coffee off my phone and into an album. I like getting messy and playing with colour and composition. My albums are 80% pink even though I have 2 boys because that's how I roll. When I'm not working on my pocket page album I'm busy trying to achieve perfect mermaid coloured hair, adventuring with my family, napping or knitting - I co-own a yarn store so being creative is basically my life!

Sarah

My name is Sarah, I'm a wife and mother to 6 goofy littles. We have 3 fur babies, 2 cats and a pup. I love to scrapbook, do DIY and be outdoors with my kiddos. I grew up in Alaska and have lived in all the A state's besides Arizona.

Teresa

Hello! I'm Teresa and here's a little about me! I love beautiful photography and far off places, I love things that are girlie and magical, I love the color pink and eating sweets. I'm very much a dreamer. I adore things that are packaged pretty, I will go out of my way to buy something if it's packaged pretty, it's my Achilles heel. I would call my crafting style a "beautiful mess" it's never perfect, it can be sometimes messy and a little busy, but that's what I find beautiful about it! I created this "Beautiful Mess". I'm also a mommy of two crazy, beautiful girls. We live a military life thanks to the hubby! And currently living in Hawaii.

Tiffany

Tiffany Julia is an artist of many trades living in New York City with an absolute passion for documenting her everyday life. A traveller to the core, she loves documenting her various journeys around the world in thick handmade travel journals and fun mini books. While she's not traversing the globe, she enjoys documenting the everyday in her memory planners and experimenting with mixed media in her art journals. You can always find her creating new things in her spare time. She just loves papercrafting!

We're so proud of and excited for this new design team and we hope you are too! Look forward to posts from all of them in the future!

It's a Mad Tea Planner!

Hey y'all, its Teresa! Here's my planner set up using The Mad Tea party kit! Which is my personal fave! I love the pinks and the teals with the splash of purples! It's just perfect!

I love making my own dashboards! And with these kits it's sooo easy to do! How cute is the tea cup! Like come on!

So many cute cut outs! Plus you get shaped gift tags! I use my hole puncher, and added a magical ticket with some cute string!

I love the real life photography that's mixed in this kit!

You cant forget this most adorable tassel charm you get with it! And yes that's a Unicorn!

Hello Sunshine

Hey everybody! Resident crazy dog mom Carolee here, coming to the blog today with a TN layout featuring, what else, one of my corgis, Ruby!

fullpage.png

I love the watercolor papers Andrea creates for the kits so I decided to use it in this one for the background. I took a bit of white acrylic paint and created a little mat for the photo to sit on. Sometimes, when you have a bright colorful background, you want that white to buffer but I felt like white cardstock or a border was too harsh. The white paint created a wash effect similar to the watercolors so it worked really well.

I knew I didn't want to over-embellish the page, especially in the traveler's notebook, so I chose a phrase from the ephemera pack and a couple of the phrase stickers. This added a bit of interest to the page without adding bulk which is important in notebooks!

After that, I wanted something to balance out the big color on the other side so I cut the heart out from one of the journaling cards on the cut apart sheet and added that on the right side. I liked it sort of offset so I set it with a bit of an overhang, cutting off the excess. After that, it was just a bit of journaling and it was done!

I hope you enjoyed checking out my layout today and that it gave you a bit of inspiration. I had a lot of fun with this kit and I love putting little everyday moments like this into my notebooks to enjoy and look back on. Have a great day!

Fabulous!

Hey guys! It's Teresa here, and this is my first ever scrapbook layout! If that's what you call it? I'm absolutely in love with how fun this kit was to work with! Make sure to look at how adorable the love birds are!

This is my daughter last summer! Umm her swimsuit was meant for this kit! I love overlaying everything! I don't like when things match together to much, so this is why I used four very different paper prints from the Sweet kit!

I have this problem with wanting to put a bow on everything! I thought this was totally different and fun. All I used was a hole puncher and dollar string from Target.

A rare moment. Them getting along! This is why I thought the "super sweet" cutout was perfect for this! And the two tickets and adorable candy made this even sweeter looking.

And we all need a FUN summer to do list! The Sweet Kit has the cutest prints for summer! And I loved how sweet my lace cutout came out on the polka dot pink polka dot paper!

Thanks for checking out this project. Have a great day!

Oh My Darling

Good morning everyone! Sarah here with you this morning to share with you another layout with the "Sweet" kit. I mean have you seen this kit? Have you gotten it for yourself? OMG I just love this kit! The colors are amazing and all the little ephemera is just too cute! I mean there's a unicorn and a little record player, not to mention all the other cute little things like candies and popsicles!

PicsArt_08-04-05.02.34-1.jpg

I don't use a lot of patterned backgrounds unless they're black and white. I'm branching out and using color cardstock too. lol But I just loved this two toned triangle paper, it jumped out at me so I used it. I added a white cardstock border behind my photo strip. I grabbed the patterned paper that has the light pink triangle on one end and used that to add another layer. I wanted some of the blue in there too, so I grabbed the bold black, white and blue paper and used it for another layer.

I laid my photo strip where I wanted it and started playing with embellishments. I loved those little candy ephemera with the little heart faves on them but didn't want the actual candy on my layout, so I just cut the centers out of them and used them for embellishments. I did the same thing with the sucker. I wanted a few more and a bit of a bigger one, so I grabbed some of my planner pages and cut some of the bigger ones out too. I popped a few up on foam adhesive to give some dimension. I had already cut my title out on my Silhouette, do I put it at the bottom of my layout, since it was so big. Plus it gave me another place to embellish. I wanted some more of the blue color on my layout, so I cut some 1/4 inch strips and added them down by my title. I thought I was going to just add them there, but I liked it and decided I wanted some more of it, So I went back and cut some more and added two more strips under my photo and then up to the top left-hand side.

At this point, I liked my layout but it felt like it was missing something, so I jumped back on my Silhouette and cut out that striped heart and backed it with the white patterned paper that looked like it had brush stroked on it in all the different colors. Once I had that backed, I added it behind my photo strip and I loved the way that looked. Then I decided to add some stitching to add some texture, so I just machine stitched along my little blue strip.

I have a habit of using my Color Shine and Shimmerz sprays to add splatters to my layouts, so I thought I would go a little different route this time. So I punched a few circles out from my white card stock and added them to my layout instead and to finish it all off I added a few light pink enamel dots from my stash.

I really had fun going a bit of a different route for me for this layout. I hope you enjoyed it too!
