Summer & Happiness

Hello everybody, it's Mindi here with you. I'm going to sharing a pocket page today using the July kit. I typically scrap my pocket page albums in a weekly format. Today I'm going to sharing Week 28. Here is what the whole page looks like:

Let's start out by talking about my title card. Once I opened up my kit box I knew that the puffy letters would be perfect for my weekly title card. For my background, I needed something pretty neutral so this patterned paper was great. It has a lot of white with little bits of color here and there. I also added the week number with some stickers from my stash. I even added a circle stamp around the number for a fun look. I love how it adds a little bit of black to the card. The last thing I added was a few pieces from the ephemera pack.

The first journaling card is one that I custom made. Instead of using white card stock I chose to go with the ledger paper as my background. I added my journaling onto it and then went from there. These fun diamond shapes on one of the patterned papers were something that I thought I could cut up and use on this card. I cut out two of them and added them to the left side. The photo next to it is when the kids read to the therapy dogs at our local library.

Here is look at the photo that is in the bottom corner. I added my journaling onto my photo to make sure that I had room for the story behind the photo.

In the opposite corner, I added a photo of when the kids and I dressed up as cows for Chic Fil A day.

The other journaling card is this bright yellow card that says summer. I kept it fairly simple with only added an ampersand and a word strip. I really loved the bright color and it really breaks up the photos and the other white cards. The photo next to the journaling card is my 2nd shake that week.

One last photo to share with you. This picture is of our Slurpees on 7/11 or July 11. We have a tradition of going to get free Slurpees. I kept it pretty simple and added a word strip and a star from the ephemera package.

Thanks so much for coming out today. I really had a great time putting this page together.

"Take Note" : Upcoming Kit Sneak Peek

Hi all! Today we want to share with you a sneak peek of our upcoming collection/kit -- "Take Note"! It will be coming out later in the month and we are super excited for it! I am loving the colors, the pinks and blues and greens, which just feel soft and lovely! And the whole feeling of the collection is amazing!!! It is like a breath of fresh air! It is a dream...a dream to take note of!

I am loving the polka dots in the collection, the cute deers, the beautiful flowers! It all screams "enchanted forest" to me and it just makes me happy! You will notice there are lots of references to "taking note", "document", "create", "noted", things like that, because this collection has a lot to say about paying attention to the important things in life...big and small. This collection is the kind to make you stop and "smell the roses" and look at all the magic in the world. And it encourages you to document that magic in creative ways like writing, drawing, photography, scrapping, planning, etc. It inspires you to dream...

Note: I think you will see that "drawing" is something that inspired me a lot in this collection...especially the old Disney drawings and the idea that you can create a whole world through your imagination, a dream and a pencil...

"Take note" is all about noticing the details and seeing the beauty in everyday things...like even the instruments by which we note things like cameras and even pencils for instance. You will find a lot of cool things in the collection that have a kind of "pencil-drawn" feeling to them because of this. And there are a lot of references to nature and the natural world in this collection, like with all the cute animals you find in the collection -- like the cats and deer and chipmunks, etc -- as well as all the flowers! And because we are "taking note" with this collection, there are a lot of note papers, ledgers, handwritten letters, etc in this collection as well.

As with every collection/kit that we design exclusively each month for our magical papercrafting club, The Fairytale Club, this one is inspired by several different fairytales! This time, four different Disney fairytales were chosen to inspire the "Take Note" collection.  If you take a look at the inspirational mood board used to create the new "Take Note" collection, maybe you can guess what those four fairytales are! I will give you a clue...all of them involve cute animals as main or supporting characters... Guess which four fairytales and the fairytale characters (from those stories/movies) that inspired "Take Note" and you will be entered to win a prize. Place your guesses in our Facebook Group for a chance to win! The closer you get to the correct answer, the better chance you have of winning!

Alright, well I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek of "Take Note" ! Have a wonderful day and remember to "live your life as a fairytale"!!!

Hugs --- Andrea, Founder of The Fairytale Club

How Sweet It Is

Hello planner girls! I'm Belen of Art & Whimsy and I'm excited and honored to be a Guest Designer for the Fairytale Club this month. Today I'm sharing my planner setup, in an A5, using the latest kit, "Sweet!". Let me tell you... oh my goodness, this kit lives up to its name!

Pic 1.jpg

I love the exclusive design elements, colorful imagery, and how you can mix and match the components of the various kits to create a layout that is uniquely your own.

The first thing I did was to make a dashboard from a personal sized insert and stuff my planner pockets with some of the adorable planner kit die cuts.

I love adding a large pocket insert to my planner setups so I made one using the 12x12 paper and stuffed it full of more Fairytale Club prettiness.

I embellished my pocket with ephemera die cuts. How adorable is that unicorn?!

Oh! And speaking of unicorns... included in the Happily Ever After kit comes the cutest planner tassel complete with a unicorn charm.

I've loved all of the Fairytale Club kits, but this has to be one of my favorites. The whimsical feel of it makes me smile! Thank you for allowing me to share my planner layout with you. Wishing you a beautiful week.

xo, Belen

Our Newest Kit: Sweet!

We've already shown you a few previews of our newest kit, Sweet! But today, Henny (@hennytjcraftcottage on IG) got her hands on it and took photos so nice, we had to share them here on the blog!

Aren't they great?! The gorgeous colors and fun patterns really pop! Her photos include both sizes of the dividers, but other than that, it's exactly what's included in our Happily Ever After kit. Love what you see? Click the link and sign up to have it sent your way!

Hope you have a magical day!

Mini Workshop goodies: Mermaid Planner Set up, Decorative Pocket Cards, and a Lovely Layout...

Hello there everyone! It is Andrea here and I want to share with you some lovely things that I made for the most recent Mini-Workshop, using the "Storytime" collection! I love the "Storytime" collection! The mermaids just make me so happy! It was so much fun playing with "Storytime" to create these projects for the Mini-Workshop and our "fairytale membership" members! If you don't know about the Mini-workshops that we do each month, I will share a little about that now!

The Mini-Workshop is a sort of mini-class made up of video tutorials of a few different projects. I do one for each collection that comes out each month. There have been two so far and soon we will be doing one for the "Sweet!" collection (which is our newest collection/kit).

The Mini-Workshops are available to our "fairytale membership" members. The "fairytale membership" is a kind of club within the club. It is our premium membership. And for these members, we offer several special things in addition to their subscriptions. They get these "mini-workshops" and they also get other special benefits like inspirational emails, and discounts and deals on classes and events. We also have a special Facebook group that is just for our "fairytale membership" members only. It is a different, exclusive group, separate from our The Fairytale Club Facebook Group, which is public and for all our members and fans.

Now, I just want to quickly talk about the projects that I worked on for the last Mini-Workshop. I had fun working on these. I love them all, the layout, the pocket cards, the planner stuff. I enjoyed working with the rose cut-files for my layout and using the different pretty colorful roses cut from the "Storytime" patterns to create a kind of garland from one corner of the page to the opposite one.

I loved working in my planner with the "Storytime" kit. I love the mermaids! I decided to set up the front of my planner with goodies from the kit that I tucked in, and also to use a sketch from the inspirational email to create a little planner "mini-layout" which served as a divider for my planner.

The decorative pocket cards were probably my favorite thing to work on though! They are cute quote cards and they serve as great pieces of inspiration as they each have a special quote on them! I had fun with the shaker ones especially, like the unicorn one that says "think happy thoughts" on the front and the mermaid one that has "I know who I am...I'm a mermaid" written out on the back.

I hope that you like these Mini-Workshop projects and that you are inspired to join our "fairytale membership" ! It is super fun and I think you will enjoy it! Alright well, remember to live your life as a fairytale! Hugs everyone!

Ice cream&Shades

Good morning everyone!! I'm so happy to be playing with the July "Sweet" kit!

It s so bright and full of summer fun ephemera! I'm sharing a layout with you this morning of two of my little girls enjoying some yummy ice cream on a nice summer day!

I had a hard time choosing what papers to use, I just wanted to use them all, but I finally decided to cut a strip of the paper that looks like it has the paint strokes. I placed that across the center and then moved on to backing my photo. I used one of my planner inserts and backed the photo and then the water color paper too. I fussy cut that cute little ice cream cone out and then used the left over for behind my photo too.

I added the ice cream cone to the right of the photo and then broke into the adorable ephemera pack, I pulled out the little ice cream cones, a ticket and some little bitty hearts and started placing them around the layout.

I had thought I would leave it with an all white background, but decided I wanted more color, and to be honest I wanted to use more of the pretty papers from the kit, lol. I added some of the die cut words to the layout, the yummy just fit! And after I cut it down and placed it on the teal bow paper I added a little ticket, sticker and a heart.

I pulled out a wood button from last months kit and added it and then grabbed some gold alphas from my stash and added my title, Ice cream&Shades.

This months kit has so many pretty papers, I mean the patterns are amazing! The colors are so beautiful too! If you havent went and checked out the new kit yet, or the past ones, make sure to go look at them!!

Hi

Good morning everyone! Sarah here this morning to share with you a layout I made of me and my goofy mom. She was sick on Mothers Day, but shes my mom and I wanted to see her, so we went down and spent the day with my parents and I got her to play on snapchat with me.

I loved the paper that said you are here and hello there and I wanted to use it as a background, so I pulled that one. Then I grabbed the too cute unicorn paper and cut a triangle from it for my bottom left corner and placed it there.

I had used an app on my phone and made a photo strip out of some of the pictures and printed them out. I added some of the light teal polk adoted paper behind my pictures, then added the top of one of the tags from the ephemera pack. I pulled a few more pieces from the ephemera pack, like the adorable flamingo and the gold leaves and tucked them in there and there.

I added some of the cute wood buttons and sequins, I didnt follow the rule of 3's on this layout and I had a bit of a hard time because of that, but in the end I thought it turned out pretty good! After tucking things in here and there on the layout and adding my little bit of bling, with the sequins, I added the die cut Hi from the ephemera pack, for my title.

I thought I was done, but I wanted a  little more color on the script paper, but I didnt want to add splatters to this layout. So I grabbed my water colors and started coloring in some of the location symbols. That was it for this layout for me. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope to see what you do with this kit too!!
