Wonderful World of Disney Tags with Lilly

Hey guys! Welcome back to the blog for another super fun project in collaboration with The Fairytale Club. We are working once again with the Wonderful World Of Disney kit but this time we have made some super cute fun layered tags. I picked up these super cute tag dies a few weeks ago and have yet to use them so I put them to use in this project. These are stitched tag dies that I cut which gave a little extra to the look of the tags.

I layered different sizes on top of each other with foam tape for some added dimension. For the larger tag, I used a crepe paper rosette as my center piece and a mini doily. I then used the Minnie Mouse as well as other ephemera pieces from the collection to further embellish.

The other 2 tags have the same concept with also added embellishments. Hope you guys enjoyed the post and create your own!

SUNSHINE ON A CLOUDY DAY LAYOUT WITH CARRIE

Hello Everybody!  It's Carrie here again with another layout using the lovely Wonderful World of Disney Kit : )  This time I've paired a 6x12 layout with a full page 6x12 inch photo and placed it directly into my 9x12 inch Project Life album for this year.

The photos in this spread are from our trip to the Japanese Gardens here in Seattle.  Originally, I was planning on using this kit to scrapbook more photos from Disneyland.  However, when I realized that I could get away with using these photos instead I was thrilled!  I can't believe how much the product from this kit brightens the mood of my photos taken on such a dreary day lol!!

Okay, so to get started I chose my background paper as usual.  This retro design is one of my many favorites in this collection!  Next, I chose the 6x12 inch photo to pair it with.  Even though it was early Spring when I took this scenic photo there is just enough color to get away with placing these two side by side.

Once I realized that Dumbo the flying elephant would match my paper, the idea of him flying in the clouds came straight to mind.  I promptly made a trip to the Silhouette Design Store online and chose this Sunshine Clouds cut file by Loni Stevens.  The idea of clouds since it was such a rainy day seemed perfect.  Before I cut this file I resized it to just over 6 inches wide so it would take up the entire width of my layout.  Then, I ran white cardstock through my Silhouette Cameo and cut out the clouds and sun with text.  Since the cut file comes with two pieces which you layer together, I decided to make a third cut and used yellow vellum which I layered over the top layer of the sun and text.  To adhere the bottom layer of the entire design to my background I just used regular adhesive.  For the top/ second layer, I used foam adhesive for dimension.  Before I attached the second layer of the sun and text I adhered the yellow vellum to it using just a little red line tape in areas which I knew would be covered later by either a cloud or text.

Since the text says "sunshine" I thought that adding "on a cloudy day" was appropriate and spelled it out using the rose gold Auburn Lane thickers from Pink Paislee.  Song lyrics for the win!  Lol!!

At this point I knew I wanted more clouds so the entire page felt like the sky.  So, I went back and chose another cut file, this one is called Clouds by Patty Young Designs.  Before cutting this design I also resized it to just under 6 inches wide.  Then, I used the original size which I cut twice, once normal and once flipped horizontally.  To match a little more of the photo on the opposite page, I also completed the same cuts with a light green vellum and a light blue.  The clouds are all popped up on foam adhesive and I love how it looks like they're floating!  I used two different heights to add more effect in overlapping.  I attached the vellum using red line tape, again in places where I knew you wouldn't see it.

When I was going through my stash to look for something else to add I came across these enamel dots from Blastoff by My Mind's Eye.  The iridescent ones reminded me so much of water that I ended up using all but two of them as raindrops falling from a couple of the clouds.  I also found these adorable heart shaped mini paper clips by Doodlebug, and once I decided to add this 2x3 inch photo on the page I just had to add it in.  It's hard to tell, but this tiny 2x3 photo is actually upside down.  If you look closely there is a ripple in the water that gives it away.  I did this on purpose because the photo on the opposite page doesn't do the refection in the water justice and I wanted to highlight it here.

As a final touch I decided where to place Dumbo, and now my spread is complete and it's on to the next page for me!  Thanks for taking a look at my process.  See you next time ; )  Carrie

Aimee's Wonderful World of Disney Mini Album

Hi all! Aimee here share a little mini using the WWOD Kit. When I first saw this kit I instantly knew I wanted to make a mini album with it.

Lately I have been making these little 3x4 mini albums from journaling cards, and I absolutely LOVE them. They are so easy and fun. You can easily make one in an afternoon and is a great way to document a mini Vacay.

First off I printed the photos I wanted to use. If you don’t know by now I am a huge fan of the instax share printer. I combined 4 different Disney trips with my husband for this album. Can you believe that some of the photos were taking almost 9 years ago next month! Wow I am getting old. Anyways after I printed my favorite photos I choose the paper I wanted to work with. 

I knew I wanted to use some of the cards from “Disney Girl” And “Hi Mickey” so I just cut those 2, 12x12 sheets. I also used “Welcome to Disneyland” {My Favorite!} “It’s a Small World”, “I Heart the Castle”, “Mouseketter”, and “My Happy Place”. I cut 4 inches off the top of those 4 papers and then cut them by 3inches to make my cards. SIMPLE.

I then laid out all my 3x4 cards and placed my photos on top of them. I then went through the die-cut ephemera pack and placed all the bits and pieces on top of my photos. I did the same with the flair. I then adhered every little bit and piece to each 3x4 card. 

Once everything was all adhered I stamped various photos with the date or a cute little saying. I also went through and embellished some of the cards with paper clips, string, stickers etc. 

I then punched a hole in the top of each 3x4 card and the few other pieces I used too.

To create my cover, I fussy cut the “Disneyland” from one of the 3x4 cards and adhered it along with pieces from the die-cut pack on top of a 3x4 bookmark tag I had in my stash. I toped the card of with a black and white stripped bow {from my stash} along with the wooden bead tassel charm {from my stash}. I then combined it all together on a loose-leaf book ring. 

I had so much fun creating this little mini, and love looking at it even more. Even my husband enjoyed looking at it! I love to hang them around my office, I can look up and see this cute little piece of art with a whole lot of memories tucked inside!

Disney Girl Magic Layout with Carrie

Hello Everybody!  Today I'm sharing a recent layout using the dreamy Wonderful World of Disney Kit!!  This layout actually goes in my October Daily for 2017.  It's from the event Andrea hosted last October at Disneyland where she dressed up as Madame Leota!  I feel so lucky to have been able to attend one of her events.  She goes all out, and the walk around the park after where she gives memory keeping and photo tips (as well as her husband taking professional photos) is awesome!!  I happened to snap this pic of her with her face lit up by her crystal ball, and it's one of my favorites!

When I put this layout together I chose the photo and background paper first.  The photo is so dark I knew I wanted to add in a strip of black at the top.  So I went through my stash and found an old black velvet textured paper by Doodlebug.  I liked it so much that I ended up placing a thin border of it around the photo as well.

The photo itself is slightly popped up with a thin layer of white foam paper sandwiched between it and the black velvet.  This made it easy to tuck the die cuts between the two once I decided on which to add.

Next, I decided on the upper case D flair centered in the crystal ball.  I super love how that looks!

At this point I decided to add white embroidery thread around a handful of the hexagons before it became too difficult to tuck the ends of the thread under more elements.  I really like the texture the embroidery adds.  Then, I popped up the die cut word "Magic" and word strip "disney girl", layering them together as my title.  To add just a little something extra I used my Wink of Stella to add glitter to the "Magic".  I also, splattered just a little on the background for balance.

I could have stopped there, but when I saw these cute Mickey head balloons, I decided to tuck them around the photo in between the photo and black velvet paper.  To attach them I used a foam circle just in the center of the Mickey head.

To mimic the crystal ball and blue flair, I also added the yellow burst die cut popped up to the left side of the blue balloon.....and that's it for my layout!  I have jounaling to go along with this page planned for the opposite side in my October Daily, otherwise I would have also added in the date and a description.

Wonderful World of Disney Cards with Lilly

Hey guys! Welcome back to the blog! Hope you guys are having a great summer so far. If you guys follow me on Instagram then you saw that I posted the stunning Disney collection by The Fairytale Club. The collection is called “The Wonderful World of Disney” and it is just beautiful. The colors are so magical.

Today’s project that I will be sharing with you guys are some super cute handmade cards. I have grown to love making handmade cards so much, they are easy to make and so fun to give to as a gift or to a pen pal :) So for each card, I matted it with some pink cardstock except the Mickey one it’s matted actually twice. I added a bow to the Mickey cut apart card.

Wonderful World of Disney Memory Planner with Carolee

Hello there! Carolee here with you today to show off the first part of my memory planner that I started at the Disneyland event last month! When you open up the planner, this is what you see. Pretty stuffed pockets and that title page! I adore the colors of this kit so I couldn't wait to work with it!

With these two pages, I didn't mess with them because hello?! How could you? I absolutely love that Mouseketeer girl. She has my heart!

Next up is my calendar for June. Not so much happened this month, which, after several months of travel, I was very very happy for! I added one of the adorable pom pom paper clips to the top to add a bit more of that pop of teal and a bit more fun!

The last page I'm going to share is this one with a picture of me from the event. I really am a Disney princess! For this, I used a piece of paper from the kit, cut it down to match the size of the rest of the pages. Next, I printed out the photo in a 5x7" size and placed it on the paper. Since I didn't want to distract too much from the photo, I just added a little cluster of fun down in the bottom right corner, a few die cuts and a Mickey head enamel dot I had in my stash.

I absolutely love working with this kit and I can't wait to work on this planner some more. If you love it, luckily I hear there are a few kits left so grab them up. It's just adorable and I hope you love it as much as I do. Until next time y'all, happy crafting!

Ice Cream Cone Embellishments with Solange

Hey crafty friends!  Solange here with these cute ice cream cone embellishments using “The Wonderful World of Disney” kit, which I am so excited to be working with!

These simple and cute ice cream cones are great to use as decor or to decorate a happy mail package!

To create these cones, start out by cutting a piece of 6x6 paper and then roll it into a cone shape and secure it with hot glue. 

Cover a 3 inch foam ball with tissue paper with a color that matches your paper. You can find these foam balls in the floral section of your craft store.

Then glue your foam ball to the cone and add some cute trim around the edge to cover up the glue and to make your cone even cuter! Lastly, add sequins to the top to look like sprinkles and decorate using the ephemera and flair from the kit!

These are so quick and easy to make and will make your happy mail extra cute. See you next time, Solange. 

"The Wonderful World of Disney" Special Event Review

Hello there everyone! It is Andrea here today and I would like to talk to you all about something very special that I have been meaning to talk to you about for a while now...and that is -- "The Wonderful World of Disney" special event at Disneyland! The Fairytale Club occasionally has special events at Disneyland, and this was the last one that we had, back at the beginning of June. And it was so amazing and magical and wonderful!!!

Now, if you know anything about our events, then you know that what they are are basically big excuses to papercraft in the park and have a fun-filled, beautifully themed party with fellow crafty girls who love Disney! And so that is basically what we did. We all met up in Downtown Disney at Tortilla Jo's restaurant and once there, we all celebrated our love of Disney and planning/scrapbooking together with a really cool "Wonderful World of Disney" luncheon party. 

The theme was all about vintage Disney. Back in the 1950's, while Walt Disney was gearing up to open up his new theme park, called "Disneyland," he created a show called "The Wonderful World of Disney," and with it, Disney presented ideas and plans and sneak peeks for what he was going to be doing in the park! So cool, huh?!!! He was trying to hype up the new theme park and it totally worked! People got very excited! And so, that was really what I wanted the theme for this event, and subsequently the special collection/kit that we created for the event, to be all about -- the magical ideas that Walt Disney had for Disneyland back in the late 50's and early 60's, when the park was just beginning and the "Happiest Place on Earth" and it's dreamy ideology was just being formed into the place that we know and love today! 

To this end, there is a ton of vintage goodness that was put both into the event itself and into the kit that we created for it! One good example of this is our "Small World" image that we featured both in the event and in the kit! For the event, we had a special photo-booth set up that we did...and we always do something special like this for our events...a specially made and large prop that our guests can take pics with while they are at our party. For "Mad Tea Party", we did a "this way, that way" Wonderland sign, for "Spooky" we did a replica of the Haunted Mansion grandfather clock, and for this, our "Wonderful World of Disney" party, we did an absolutely magical version of the front facade of the Small World ride!  This image could also be found on the front of the kit tote bags that each of our guests received, and of course, also within the kit, on one of the planner pages, and in the ephemera pack and cut-apart sheet, etc. I have to say that everyone seemed to love this image (both in the kit and in real life)! The girls at the party all took pics in front of our "Small World" and it was waaaaay cute! 

In addition to the pics that our pro photographer took of everyone in front of our photo-booth Small World set up, we also took pics throughout the party of all of us having fun and papercrafting! And if you are wondering what we worked on for our class project, let me talk a little bit about that! So what we worked on were special memory planners which serve as both a planner and a scrapbook for the Disney adventure that we were having! It is a very fun keepsake to put the memories from that day in (and any other Disney adventure day that you want to place in there from this summer or this year as well). 

We ate lunch first - yummy enchiladas, salad, guacamole and chips, and brownies for desert - all at our beautiful, long table which was set up and decorated to look like a pretty vintage Disney tea-party, with vintage elements like good ole' Mickey Mouse and Peter Pan on the table...and then we started making pretty stuff with our kits! 

While we crafted, we chatted, introduced ourselves to each other, talked about Disney and Disneyland and all the things we loved about it! And as we cut and pasted things into our new Disney memory planner album, we also gave away some fun prizes! Everyone got at least one prize and there were all kinds of things that were given away, including some cute planner and scrapbooking things and also some really adorable Minnie Mouse Fairytale Ears!

At the end of the party in Downtown Disney, we took more pics, including one big group pic of all of us with our memory planners! I think it came out waaaaay cute! And then people started leaving (and I gave out a few more prizes to the last of the stragglers out the door), and the best part was...that we weren't done yet! Nooooo, the day was by no means over because we also had our special "After Party" in the park!!! Now, not everyone comes to the after party walk around the park, but a lot do, and whether or not you do, you are of course in for a really wonderful time. However, I always recommend coming with us into the park because it is soooo much fun!

In the park, we took our guests through a Fairytale Club kind of tour which was of course vintage Disney themed too, just like everything in our "Wonderful World of Disney" event! We took everyone down Mainstreet U.S.A, down through the castle and into Fantasyland! In Fantasyland, we went on vintage rides that have been there since the park began, back in the 50's and 60's...rides which were reflected in the specialty kit that we created for the event! These rides included Dumbo and Small World of course...plus we also all got in a big tea-cup in front of the tea-cups ride and we also went on the carousel, Snow White, and Storybookland! So much fun!!!

We took pics all along the way and had fun doing other quintessential and magical Disney things like getting churros, making a wish in Snow White's wishing well, getting some fairy dust sprinkled on us from a fairy godmother, etc! Oh, and we, of course, took pics in front of the beautiful castle!!! And we showed our guests ways to pose, where the best places to take pics are, and also where they could find some fun, free or cheap ephemera to add to their memory planner/scrapbook, along with their pics (which everyone got in an online gallery, included in their event ticket), to really make their memories from their Disney adventure come alive!

It was really such a great and beautiful day at the park! I loved doing this event as I always love doing these special Fairytale Club events at Disneyland! I do have to say that because of my poor health, this may have been my last event like this at the park....but who knows, maybe in the future, if my health gets a lot better, we can go back to doing them again because they really are so wonderful and magical! "Tiki, I Love You!" Sneak Peek!

Hello!  I'm sorry we've gotten a few days behind here on the blog.  The bad news is that my health has been very poor, which has made it difficult to get a lot of work done.  The good news is that we do have a sneak peek for the next collection to show off!!!  It's called "Tiki, I Love You!" and I am in love with it.  So excited to finally be able to show some of it to you all!

This collection is mainly inspired by the tiki aesthetic (as you may have guessed), and in particular the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland.  The colors for the collection are dreamy, pastel pinks and greens, with fresh yellows and blues, as well.  It's all about going on that great summer adventure, and it's the perfect collection to help document your summer memories, especially if you happen to meet a mermaid or two along the way.  ;)  Keep an eye out for the full collection reveal coming soon!
