Adeline's Everyday Wishes Kikki K. Planner

Hi my Fairy friends,

It’s Adeline, so glad to be on the Fairytale Club’s blog today sharing my lilac Kikki K. planner decorated with the “Everyday Wishes” kit.
 

Last time I said that I love this kit so much because of its themes - dream, wish, love - but I also love it for its colors and design.
 

I chose to decorate my meal and home planner with this kit. I made a double dashboard with two sheets of paper.

First I used the acetate paper, and I superimposed it on a second sheet, and I made my decoration according to this second paper.

I decided to create a little shaker for my dashboard’s second page with the sequins and a project life card.

Finally I made my cover decor with Everyday Wishes’ ephemera (so girly!), and I added some of my paper clips like the unicorn - perfect with the kit!

Everyday Memories with Enza

Hello, everyone! Enza here, and I'm back today with a new layout featuring the amazing Everyday Wishes kit.

I love using die-cuts and dimensional elements on my pages. They add texture and color, and create lots of interest, especially when grouped together to form clusters. I started by backing a heart wreath cut file with several patterned papers from the kit. I was not sure how I wanted to add more dimension to it. I thought about adhering it down with foam adhesive, which is what I usually do, but ended up creating a shaker in the center of the wreath instead. Shakers are such a fun element and very simple to make. Here, I just adhered a piece of acetate to the cut file before gluing it down. Easy peasy. I love how the colorful sequins move around and make this layout more interactive. To jazz up the background, I also splattered some mist on it, making sure to use colors that coordinated with the papers in the kit.

For the photo, I created several layers behind it with patterned paper and embellished it with many die-cuts. The ticket stubs come from one of the cut-apart sheets. I simply stapled them together and used hearts in coordinating colors for a tone-on-tone look. The word die-cuts are perfect to create titles. There are so many of them! Again, I used foam adhesive to give it dimension.

To finish the layout, I added a small cluster of embellishments on the opposite side of the photo to balance it out.

Andrea In Wonderland...CREATIVATION 2018! : a fairytale story and videos too

Hello everyone! It is Andrea here, and I have something really exciting to share with you today! So, last weekend, as some of you may know, the Craft and Hobby Association had their annual show – now known as "Creativation." I have been wishing to go to the CHA show for about ten years or so now...since back when the show itself was just known as "CHA." There were two shows each year, marking the two major release seasons of new product in the papercrafting industry...and they took place in winter and summer, one here in Southern California in January and the other out of state, Illinois I believe, in July.

Well, once upon a time, when I was still pretty new to scrapbooking, I remember hearing about the show and thinking that I wanted to go to this amazing thing that seemed to me to be like a magical papercrafting wonderland! The Anaheim convention center was so close to me...this wonderland a quick hour away...why would I not go?! However, I found out that you needed to be part of the industry and a member of the association to get into the show or else pay a pretty steep price. Still, I made a deal with myself that one day I would go. But it seemed that each year, I was out of luck because I was always, always having some sort of issue, usually with my health, whenever the show came around that prevented me from going, and it just seemed like it wasn't meant to be. Then they decided to only do one show a year, and to move it out of state. My heart sank when they did this. It seemed all the less likely that my dream of going would ever come true.

But last year, in the spring, I started my company "The Fairytale Club," for scrapbookers and planners and lovers of papercrafting...and I knew that I had to try to go to the show. I was now a part of the industry, and it was not only a wish by a hobbyist anymore, but a necessity as someone in the industry.

When my health started to go so wrong towards the end of 2017, I started to feel my dream slipping away again. My husband and I had planned on going, on registering as members; we downloaded member registration paperwork, started looking at hotels, etc. But my health just kept getting worse and worse. So at the end of December, with the show only a month away, we gave up. "Maybe next year," I said...as I had often said to myself...with more sting in it this time, because it meant so much more, as an actual member of the papercrafting industry, to go, to feel like I was part of this creative world, like so many of the people in this business that I look up to.

But in January, with the show only a day or two away from starting, I noticed I was doing better. Surely, though, it was probably a fluke. Just a good couple of days...probably wouldn't last. The show started and I thought, "it's too late now, and I never registered, anyway.” The day before the last day of the show, I was still feeling ok, having a good day, and I suddenly thought, "why not at least try?" With my health, the constant pain from my CRPS condition, you learn that you have to try to do as much as you can, when you can. You have to seize the opportunities, the moments, because they are brief and all too fleeting.

I called CHA to ask if we could just show up, register for membership, and get in at the door. They said yes! Ryan, my husband, told me that Phoenix, where the convention was, was only a few hours away by car. I was shocked, I thought it would be much farther. But these two things felt like a sign. We checked for an inexpensive hotel nearby and there was one. We had nowhere to put our dog, Leeloo, but the hotel just happened to allow pets. Another sign. I looked at Ryan and asked if he thought we should go...was it a dumb idea?...only going for one day...the last day...and given how bad I had been doing for the last few months...was a last minute adventure like this really wise? Ryan, is by far, the best person I know, my prince charming...he smiled and said "yes" and started packing us up.

And so I went. I went to CHA's Creativation! We could only go for 5 hours. 5 hours on the last day. My walking isn't great, but I walked around that Wonderland as much as I possibly could, Ryan helping me along. I met so many amazing people who are so inspiring to me! I met Maggie Holmes and Heidi Swapp and Shimelle Laine and Amy Tan, and Becky Higgins and Tim Holtz and Vicky Boutin...and so many more incredible, lovely people... The whole thing was incredible! I dressed up all in pink and I really felt like a princess for the day, transformed from a pumpkin in pj's for so many months...stuck in bed, stuck in pain...but on this one day, I felt like I was accomplishing a dream and that I was writing my own "happily ever after." I had set so many goals for my life, in this industry. And on this one day, I was Cinderella at the ball...taking an important step towards making all my dreams come true!

There were so many amazing new things to see and do, kind and lovely and helpful and talented people to meet, so many pretty booths and new products. And all the networking, all the important people I met and the things I did to help my new business along on its way...all of it was important! And the wonderland... It truly was that...so beautiful...a papercrafter's dream...a fairy land of pretty things to create with!

But the thing that I will remember most, the thing that I will hold onto most as being the most special and the most important and the most beautiful from my trip, is from the car ride with Ryan on the way there.  I turned to him and said, "I'm scared...what if nobody likes me and nobody likes my stuff, and I just make a big fool out of myself?"

"No," Ryan said. "You won't.  I'm sure they will like you."

And I turned to him and asked him, "Why, why did you agree to do this with me? I mean, thank you, I appreciate it, you coming on this adventure with me last minute like this...but why did you, I didn't think you would."

And he said, "Of course I would, I Believe In You!"

I started to cry, and I knew in that moment that everything would be ok...and that fairytales do come true, but not just because we believe they will, but because others believe in us!

Thank you so much to all my supporters, all of you out there who have encouraged me and helped me on this journey, all of you who subscribe to the kits and have taken classes by me, all who have followed me and loved my work and my product and cheered me on....and stuck by me through all this horribleness with my health! I appreciate it more than I can say!

An Inspirational Polaroid Tag Banner with Tiffany

Hey everyone! Tiffany here with a fun tag banner project using the Everyday Wishes kit.

I wanted to do a different sort of project this time that not only you can use to document your life, but easily display it in your home as well to inspire you always. So I had a lot of fun creating this little banner from a few tags I made from the pattern papers. I even made these cute little polaroid frames to frame my photos and hang from the banner as well. I’m planning to display this banner over my dresser, so I can always see it and be inspired by it everyday.

Before I strung everything on to a pink and white baker’s twine, I had to make each tag. I first printed out four photos I wanted to use on my banner and looking through the word die cuts from the kit, I pulled out words that I felt corresponded to each photo well. For my first tag, I used a photo of Cinderella’s castle at Disney World and the word “dream.” Disney for me is where dreams come alive and I felt it was so appropriate to use on this project with the Everyday Wishes kit.

I printed out my photo to already have a little white polaroid frame around it. Separately, I cut out a tag from one of the pattern papers to back my photo on. I then layered the “dream” die cut over it so that a bit of the word hung off the edge. I kept these tags simple, so I embellished it with a black and white heart die cut and a blue puffy heart sticker from the Take Note kit, before punching a hole at the top of the tag, reinforcing it with a white reinforcement sticker to make it look like a real tag. I attached it to my string with a mini wood clothesline pin that I painted white.

For my second “tag,” I cut out a polaroid frame from one of the papers to frame a photo of my dog Joey. I paired his photo with the word “heart” because I just love him so much and he’s a huge part of my life and my heart. I layered the die cut over the frame the same way I did with the previous tag, so a bit of the word hangs off the edge, then embellished the polaroid with another black and white heart die cut and a pink puffy dot sticker from the Take Note kit. I then hung it on my string with another white painted wood clothesline pin.

I repeated the tag process with this third tag, using this black and white square pattern from one of the planner dividers. Yet, instead of using a photograph, I fussy cut the princess image from one of the other dividers and pasted her in the center of the tag along with the “wishes and dreams” die cut that I cut into a banner. I embellished the tag with another puffy heart sticker, this time in pink.

For the fourth tag, I created another polaroid frame using the pink polka dot pattern paper. For this one, I used a photo of the Mad Hatter Tea Cups at Disneyland Paris and matched it with the word “happy.” This is by far one of my favorite rides at any of the Disney parks as it never fails to make me laugh. It is just the happiest ride ever. I wanted my banner to remind me to always be happy, so I thought this was the perfect way. I embellished this frame with one of the powder blue bow die cuts from the kit, so that it balanced out the pink.

I made my last tag the same way I made the first one. I printed a photo of myself with a white polaroid frame around it and paired it with the word “brave.” I always strive to be more brave with my life, so again, this was the perfect reminder of that. Since I cut the tag from this minty blue pattern paper, I ended up embellishing it with a pink bow die cut to bring in a bit of the pink color to the tag. This particular tag is very mint/blue in color, so adding a little touch of pink helped it balance out.

Adeline's Self-Care and Memory Traveler's Journal

Hi my Fairy Friends, It’s Adeline for the Fairytale Club blog today, I am so happy to see you.  I wish you a Happy New Year for 2018, so much love, and good health for your family and you.  For this new post, I decided to share with you a part of my self-care and memory traveler's journal.
 

I follow a challenge named The Happy Place Club created by The Reset Girl, and each week I make my self-care homework!!!!!!!

I decorated my week with the Everyday Wishes kit. I love it for the colors and my favorite Disney movie, Cinderella, inspired it!!!!! 

So let’s discover my second week of January with a special event!!!!!!! My love and I's 11th love birthday.

Henny's Planner with Everyday Wishes

Hello everyone! Henny here, I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. So today I’m going to share with you a dashboard I have completed for my A5 ringed Planner. 

As you can see, this “Everyday Wishes” kit definitely reminds you of your favorite childhood story. It is just so lovely with pastel of a pale and heart warming delicate shade of color. The contents are full of princess things like castles, unicorns, hummingbirds, flowers .. just like living in a dreamy fairytale world. No matter what your age, fairy tales carry with them a certain magic. 

So, for the pockets, as usual one of the set ups I’ve always loved to do, I have filled them up and decorated them with some pretty die-cuts, stickers and embellishments from the kit.  And I added page flags from Target that coordinated perfectly with the kit. So it’s a pretty simple set up I can say, but sweet at the same time. 😊

Oh how I love how this dashboard turned out!  Isn’t it just lovely? I used one sheet of paper, folded it 2/3 to make a slide pocket, and punched the edge of the pocket with a lacy punch, then secured the ends of the folded paper by sewing them together to make one real pocket. 
For the front side, I placed a couple of note cards from the kit, then just randomly decorated it by adding some embellishments that came from the kit, as well, except for the adhesive gem frame.

I created this dashboard with a slide pocket intended to use where you can slide in there your notes 📝, receipts, letters, stickers, photos, etc... 

For the back side of the dashboard I decided to make a secretarial with card sliding pocket just for an additional space I can use to put anything as i wish. 

So overall I’m really happy with how this dashboard project came out. I hope you’ve enjoyed looking through everything and that it gives you another idea to start your project with.

Home, Sweet Home with Allie

Hello there! It's Allie here today sharing a layout using the Everyday Wishes collection. Today's page focuses on hand-stitching!

There were so many items in the kit that would look so cute with accent stitching, but I settled on this fun castle from the planner kit! I love the castles Andrea often includes in each kit, because they are so perfect for all my Disney photos!

I stitched around the castle design, and then cut it out to create a beautiful focal point for my page. I used the gorgeous "Dreams Do Come True" paper as my background. I added tissue paper on top of it to help tone down the design and have the photo stand out.

I used a picture from our recent trip to Disneyland, but converted it to black and white so the Christmas colors in the photo wouldn't compete with the colors of the page. 

Finally, I finished off with embellishments. There are so many die cuts and stickers that it was hard to choose! I love the way it turned out. I had so much fun using all the beautiful patterns and colors. Thanks for joining me today!

Hello Alice with Carrie

Hello Everybody!  Today I have a short video where I flip through a mini book I put together using the amazing Everyday Wishes Kit!!  A friend of mine dressed as Alice from Alice In Wonderland during Mickey's Halloween Party last year and I took some super fun photos of her as the two of us explored Disneyland together.  As soon as I saw all the beautiful blues, flowers, and pops of color in the Everyday Wishes Kit I knew it would be the perfect product to use with my photos!....And so a mini book was born lol!!

In the video I show how I used Alice In Wonderland themed Instax film and share the finished Instax size pocket page which I altered to fit into a 4x4 album.  There are also a couple fun shaker pockets, lots of layering, and even two "floating" photos.

Beautiful Sunshine with Tiffany

Hey everyone! Tiffany here with a fun little project using the Everyday Wishes kit. For this year, I’ve decided to keep one 6x8 album as my memory scrapbook for the year. In years past, I’ve kept either a 6x8 Project Life album or an A5 Memory Planner to document my year, but for 2018, I want to change it up a bit. My main reason for switching to a generic “memory scrapbook” type album was that I didn’t want to be constrained to documenting my year in any sort of chronological order. With Project Life and memory planners, I always felt the need to keep up with the dates and whenever I “fell behind,” it stressed me out to try to “catch up.” I wanted to eliminate those feelings, so switching to an album where I can document my year whenever I felt like it seemed like the perfect alternative.

For this post, I wanted to share with you a spread I did in my memory scrapbook. In this little album, I’m hoping to do a mixture of different types of pocket pages as well as layouts. So for this spread, I did a 6x8 layout on the left and a twelve 2x2 pocket page on the right. I absolutely love mixing the two because all of the different pockets give so much texture and depth to my album. So I began with the pocket page first. I used a few of the personal-size planner pages that come in the planner kit to cut out 2x2 squares to fill my pockets. I then arranged those around the photos of myself that I had already put in the pockets. I wanted this page to be fun, so I used a couple of random selfies I took and just played around with all the little bits in the kit.

I repeated the black and white square pattern paper and the fun tickets from the cut apart sheet on the top and bottom row of pockets. I really like symmetry, so I did this to keep the page balanced. In the top black and white square, I fussy cut the sticker of the cute girl with the crown from the sticker sheet and added her to the square along with a heart from the ephemera pack and a pink heart puffy from my stash. Next to that, I stapled two of the tickets together and tucked those into the pocket. I did the same thing in the bottom row, except I used a sticker from the Take Note kit and just matted it on some white cardstock before layering it on top of the pattern paper.

In the two center rows, I did something a bit different. In the first row, I filled one pocket with some of the fun sequins from the kit, adding two of the die cut hearts in the pocket as well to give it a fuller look. In the pocket next to that one, I just have a light blue pattern paper with one of the die cut butterflies from the ephemera pack on it. I added a tiny yellow puffy heart from my stash at the center just to repeat that yellow. Then of course my photo. In the second row, I have my photo then a two pocket cluster that I filled with this beautiful pink pattern paper. On top of the pocket page, I adhered the “hello” word die cut and a die cut heart, along with another yellow puffy sticker from my stash. I love these out-of-the-pocket bits that you can add to your pocket pages. It really does add a lot of texture and dimension, but I really did it because I didn’t want to cut that “hello” die cut piece in half.

To the left of my pocket page, I did a really simple 6x8 layout. I had this rather large photo of myself wearing some Mickey ears that I had made and I really didn’t want to cut it down to a reasonable size, so I used the photo as is and it took up most of the layout. I layered a bunch of the pattern papers and a white doily from my stash behind it before placing it in the center of a white cardstock background. I embellished it with some puffy stickers from my stash, as well as some title stickers that say ‘beautiful sunshine.”

I didn’t do any journaling at all in this spread, but I’m not too fussed about that. Another reason I wanted to keep an album like this one was just to preserve my memories in a fun and simple way. I had tons of fun with the process of embellishing my photos with the kit and for me that’s what matters most. If I look back on these pages in a few days time and feel like it needs a bit of journaling, I’ll add it in. But for now, I love it the way it is and I’ve got the photos in and another page down in my 2018 album. I really hope you enjoyed this peek into my album!

Meals and Wellness Planner with Kim

Hi there!  I made myself another planner. (yup, insert eye roll here.)  I know, I know but listen to my reasoning.  When I'm in my office for the majority of the day, the main planner I work with says there, besides some nightly outings to the living room to sit and plan for the next day.  I've noticed that my meal planner and wellness insert where I track my eating habits are not getting used consistently.  After thinking about it for a while it isn't the fact that I don't want to write down what I want to make or eat, it's the fact that its not in the kitchen when I need to write these certain things down

Using the Everyday wishes kit, it was a cinch to put together.  The personal size dividers needed just a hare of a trim to fit perfectly on top of the other pattered paper to make then super sturdy.

I made a little bag out of this beautiful patterned paper which will hold my grocery receipts for tracking expenses.  To make then easy to stuff in I used my pinking sheers to trim the front down to one layer and arched the top too.

I folded the sides together for a seam down the back and angled the corners on the bottom to make it crease up nicely.

A paperclip holds a few extra goodies on the back!

And my leading lady looks on to some daily notes that I can take out quickly and throw in my purse.  I did add one die cut in the corner to make me feel as if I'm trying to make it pretty!

One of my favorite parts about every kit is the acetate.  I trimmed and laminated it for a bookmark for easy turning on my wellness insert.

I love that a quick and easy project can make me feel so much more organized!
