Happy Day in Kamakura with Carolee

Hey all! I'm back from vacation and ready with a new layout for you all. This is an itty bitty one for my Tim Holtz mini book. I started out with some kraft cardstock and dripped some white and gold paint all over the pieces.

Next up, it was time to do the little bit of decoration I was planning for the right side. I added the happy day stickers from the gold foil sticker sheet and then used some stamps from my stash to stamp Kamakura, the city where this picture was taken, in hiragana in the lower right corner.

Now it was time to start building the left side. I really wanted to do some paper layering for this so I grabbed several of the A5 dividers and used the back sides of those for my patterns. Luckily, it was around this time my assistant joined me so I was ready to do some serious layering!

I took a doily along with the papers I gathered and started layering. It took a bit of wiggling and testing, but I really like how it came out!

After seeing it all together, I decided I wanted a bit more dimension to the page so I decided to pop the whole thing up on a bit of cardboard salvaged from an Amazon box. After that, I added the die cuts to the photo and clipped it into the book.

"Hello Beautiful!" Sneak Peek

Hello everyone! It is Andrea here and today I want to share with you a fun sneak peek of our newest and next collection, "Hello Beautiful!" It is so, so lovely and I am super excited for you to see it!

The collection is filled with gorgeous springtime patterns and imagery. It has tons of pretty florals and adorable animals. And, as you may notice, it is inspired by my favorite fairytale -- Snow White! All of our kits/collections are inspired, as you know, by fairytales...but as usual, we have created for you a collection which can be used for many different things -- like, for example, springtime, a celebration, the outdoors, someone you love, reading, the everyday magic of our lives....etc. However, I find that this collection is perfect not just to use for those themes, and so many more, but also particularly ideal to use for documenting yourself! I love that there are so many inspirational items in this collection which are all about recognizing the beauty of who you are! I think this is something which I myself struggle with, and which many of us have a hard time with. It is so important for us each to feel beautiful! And I think "Hello Beautiful!" reminds us that we are each special because of our individual traits and likes, our actions and personalities...all the good things inside us which make us truly beautiful -- things like kindness, bravery, and inteligence! Memory Keeping Picture Overlay with Kim

Hello, it's Kim!  After a recent trip to Arizona I had a bunch of memory keeping brainstorming ideas on how to use my pictures. One of them was a picture overlay on to pattern paper!

What I mean is that I've taken some of the beautiful pattern paper from the 'Sweet' collection and cut it to size for my travelers notebook. Then I printed out one of my pictures and a couple of digital files, the "pretty" word and the hearts with the arrow through them, on clear sticker paper and placed it on top of the pattern paper. It leaves the picture as a fantastic focal point but the script words add just the right punch.

On the opposite page , I used some packaging from the collection and on top a small vignette of paper from the kit.  The cut-a-part lady is so west coast chill!

The quick layering highlighted by a date stamp is the perfect thing to off set the other page.  Let's not forget the puffy alphas!  They did come with the kit but you can grab a set yourself from the past collections for only $5.00!! She was very smart to include double vowels and popular consonants. That way you can use them for many different projects.

Adeline's Spring Planner Week Layout

Hi my fairy friends,

It’s Adeline, and today I will share with you my week layout in my Hobby Lobby planner.

For this layout I have mixed many pieces of stationery from the “Happy Day” kit, such as the project life cards, ephemera, gold foil stickers, flair buttons, washi tapes, and pieces of paper.

I created a cute little pocket with two personal size inserts, so easy to do!  You just have to cut one of the two inserts and glue it to the other insert, then punch your pocket to include it in your planner.  You can slip in important papers or just a little decoration.

Spring Candy Basket with Carrie

Hello everybody! It's Carrie here with a cheerful Spring themed candy basket using the Happy Day kit.

As a general rule I like to have chocolate in my house at all times lol!  So when I saw this adorable basket/purse in the Silhouette Design Store I thought it might be the perfect place to store a piece or two while still looking cute on my kitchen counter.  Plus, I have a fair few birthdays coming up and think it would be fun for holding a gift as well. The basket design ID is #63379 by Lori Whitlock. I started out by enlarging my basket to as big as it would fit on a 12 by 12 sheet of paper using my Silhouette software. Then I used a white piece of textured cardstock and ran it through my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the base. Next I took one of the planner inserts that had a blue background with polka dots and cut out a piece to layer over the front of my basket. Again, I used my Silhouette Cameo for this. The strips on the sides are from the same sheet of paper, and I measured what size they should be with a ruler and cut them down to size with my paper trimmer.  Then, I used red-line tape on the inside flaps and finished the assembly of my base.

Now that my base is complete I decided to find some flowers from the Silhouette Design Store to add to the front of my basket.  I ended up choosing design ID #198967 by Carina Gardner. It came with quite a few flowers as well as a couple different types of leaves.  Again I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut everything out. For all the leaves I chose the planner insert with a super fun pink writing paper design. The backside is a light purple and blue background with a cute kitty, so most of the leaves are pink but three of them I turned around using the purple or blue.  For the center of each of the flowers I used the same white textured cardstock for consistency.
 

I knew I wanted to use lots of color and patterns for the actual flowers to make them pop, so one is cut from a planner insert with a pink background and retro blue graphic design that reminds me of an eye. The other two are cut from 12 x 12 papers. I chose the ticket design, and and the design cut into a bunch of pieces and colors. All are super colorful and fun! Now that all my pieces are cut out it's time to assemble the flowers and decide where to place everything on the front of my basket. I love this part because I get to be creative :-) First I attached the flowers, next the fern-like leaves, and lastly the large and small leaves of the same shape. To finish decorating I decided to add iridescent Swarovski crystals to the center of each of the flowers, and tied the handles at the top together with a pink ribbon.  Now my project is all done and ready to be used!

"Hello Spring" Printable

Little Paper Clips with Henny

Hello 👋🏻 and happy Monday lovelies... it’s Henny again and today I wanted to share with you these little paper clips I made for first time using various materials of papers and elements from this kit.

So what I basically do is just trim two different double sided (patterned) pieces of paper and cut them into strips in bigger and smaller sizes and pictured below.

The bigger one measures approximately 5”x1.5” and the small one measures just slightly smaller than the bigger strip of paper. Trim a triangle shape from the ends of both strips to make banners as shown above.

Then fold each strip in half, but crease lightly at the top, leaving some room as you’ll need to slip the paperclip on later. Then fold the other smaller strip over top of the first banner. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect.

Slide banners over the paperclip, and then you can crease them tightly if you wish to. Next all you need to do is decorate your clips however you like!

 The cute little paper clips are so adorable, they certainly will make such cute additions in Planners, bibles, books, tags, as gifts to your crafty friends or anything you can come up with.

Adeline's Faithful Life TN

Hi my Fairy friends,
It’s Adeline today for the Fairytale Club’s blog, I have not yet given you all the secrets contained in my traveler notebook!!!!! I think it might inspire you for yours.

So let me introduce you to my faithful life traveler notebook, I chose Julie Nutting from My Prima Planner’s journal for this purpose.

I love decorating my traveler’s cover with some charms and die cuts, so I cut a project life card from “Happy Days” kit, in love with this cherry heart design and I slipped it into the elastic and finally, I added cute die cuts, it’s very springy, don’t you think?

I think it adds a little cheerful to my cover, I find it so much prettier than not putting anything.

Every month I do the Faithful Life Challenge from The Reset Girl, a challenge based on the study of the Bible.

Each month a different theme and each week some verses to study. I love this challenge because it allows linking spirituality and creativity.

So this week, I highlighted the verse of Esaie with the kit with its beautiful huge flowers and the others cute element of “Happy Days” kit.

First I made my title by combining some different piece of the kit and mine.

My gold paper napkin in order to add light that I cut, on it I stuck a label and strips of washi and I finished with the little cat and bow die cuts.

For the second part of my page, I cut a 12x12 paper with the flowers pattern, these flowers are so beautiful can’t resist to add them in my notebook.

I cut the outline of the flowers, I love this oversize side of these flowers that makes us feel like Alice in Wonderland!!! Tiny !!!!

And finally, I added some gold foil transparent stickers, my favorites!!! which remind the gold paper napkin and some little die cuts.

Visiting Tinkerbell with Tiffany

Hey everyone! Tiffany back again with another spread in my Disney World album using the Happy Day kit. I absolutely love how this spread turned out! It looks so magical and fun. I documented the photos of when my friend and I met Tinkerbell at Magic Kingdom. The whimsical florals and butterflies from the kit were absolutely perfect to use on this spread because they really capture the essence of Tinkerbell’s fairy garden home.

So I began by matting all of my photos on some of the pink papers from the kit (I used the pink plaid pattern and the pink with white polka dot pattern from the dividers and papers). I started with the right page first and played around with the arrangement. I used some of the outtakes the Disney Cast Members took of us talking to Tinkerbell for this page. I wanted the photos to sort of cascade down the page, adding the flowers and butterflies on either side of the photos to balance out the composition. But at the same time, I wanted to create movement, so that your eye follows the flow of the photos across the page.

I used this black and white sketched heart paper I’ve been hoarding from the Take Note kit for the background. A few of the flower die cuts are also from Take Note and I love how they matched so well with the flowers from Happy Day. All of the butterflies are from the Happy Day kit, I just had to fussy cut a few more of them from the paper, since I needed more than the three that came in the ephemera pack. I rearranged all of the elements on this page before finally gluing them down. I then embellished with a few matching enamel dots from my stash.

For the left page, I used one of the A5 planner dividers from the kit for the base. I’m really using the front of the divider for the previous spread in my album, but the back of it was this beautiful purple pattern that I thought worked well with my photos, so I left it as is and used it for my background. So for this page, I used the main photo of us with Tinkerbell. I also used this “Take Me to Neverland” image I found online and made a little cluster around my photo with more of those florals and butterflies from the kit. I placed everything down so that it felt like there was some circular movement to the cluster, especially in regards to the butterflies, and added a few enamel dots from my stash to emphasis that. I also placed the butterflies down in a way that I could then prop their wings up, giving the entire spread added depth and dimension. For the title, I used this “Hi” puffy phrase sticker from the Take Note kit, along with some white puffy alpha stickers from my stash to spell out “Tink.”

I love how this spread turned out. It’s both fun and whimsical, but also a bit dark and moody at the same time, which I think perfectly describes Tinkerbell. Everything just came together so well. I hope you enjoyed!

Adeline's Happy Days Planner Dashboard

Hi my Fairy friend, it’s Adeline today for The Fairytale club’s blog, it’s time to say goodbye to Winter and say hello to Spring. 

Beautiful days are coming so the new kit called “Happy Days” falls right, a fresh and colorful kit with pretty new design, love it so much especially the cute little cat, the ice cream…

So I created a new set up for my planner kikki k lilac which is just perfect for this kit with pastel shades with a dominant of pale purple.

Creating a new set up for my planners is the thing I prefer to do during my planner sessions, so that’s so that's what I did with this kit that inspires me a lot.

First I made my dashboard, I choose the cute spring A5 insert with butterflies, I just perforated the paper to be able to integrate it into my planner.

I decided to start with the bottom of the insert with a little shaker card and a gold paper napkin. I cut the project life paper, I chose the one with the flower, it reminds me of the Spring season, perfect!

For this shaker card, I used the flair button packaging, I always try to reuse product packaging. I inserted the card in the packaging and I added some sequins to have the touch of glitter that I love.

I added some finishes with the red heart die cuts that stand out on the pastel colors, so I added some pieces of transparent washi tape and finally, I added the letters LOVE in 3D.

I took the project life paper and I cut the girl picture, I added it to my insert, the glamor touch of this setup.

I added some details like the word “SWEET” and the ticket I stapled to the paper.

I think this part is my favorite in creating my planner decor: the inside of the cover, my friends say I’m part of the “ team chargée” in French, which means that I like when there is a lot of decorative element in my planner, it's true that I like it …

I really like this accumulation of dies cuts, project life card, paper clips and napkins.

I love creating paper clips with the kit flair buttons, so pretty and that gives relief to my set up which it’s important to me like the brightness of foil and glitter.
