Dianna's "Beautiful" Planner Set-Up!

Hey friends! It’s Dianna here with a super cute planner set up!! Not surprisingly this month's kit is loaded with cuteness and filled to the brim with product!  Let’s get started.

I love to decorate my planner pockets! The “Hello Beautiful!” kit made it easy peasy! I used the shape die cuts and the word die cuts to fill up the pockets.  I love that the die cuts come with cute animals and tags! I slipped the sticker sheet in the large pocket for on the go planning/decorating. Behind that I just added some of the “Fairytales” paper and a little ruffle lace behind that! I love adding a bit of texture to my planner.

Andrea includes these awesome pre-made dividers in her kits! I thought this particular one had a great sentiment. When I open this planner it will great me with “Hello Beautiful”!! I added a little ruffle lace to the bottom.  I also used the white ledger paper to make my tabs. For those I simply cut them out freehand and glued to the dividers! I love the look of ledger paper!!

For the next divider I just love the quote about kindness and that aqua color.  All the heart eyes!! I added an embellished tag from the “A Beautiful Day” cut-apart sheet.  A little fringe, heart from the die cut pack, lace, and voila!

For my last divider I had to go with the rainbow “You are my favorite”! Another little tag from the cut apart sheet, and Done!

This kit makes decorating my planner so easy! I can use the dividers as they are or embellish if I want. I love that! Not only is my planner full of pretties but I had so much fun! I hope you loved it too!

Xoxo, Dianna

Keeping It Simple with Aimee

Hi there, it’s Aimee. I’m so excited to be sharing my very first layout with a kit from The Fairytale Club!

For those of you who don’t know me or my scrapping style, let me introduce myself.  My style has evolved over the years and continues to still. Right now, I am in the “white space” phase. So, my layouts tend to be minimal and created mainly on white cardstock. I consider myself a traditional scrapper, and 8.5x11 layouts have been my go to lately.

Since I am currently traveling, this is a super simple layout due to the fact that I have minimal tools and gadgets with me (like my sewing machine for instance).

I created this layout with a piece of the 6x8 pieces using the “b” side (black & white polka dots for the win!) I trimmed it down to fit just inside my 8.5” piece of white cardstock. I also used tiny staples to look like they are holding down the patterned paper to the white cardstock.

I printed 3 photos from my courthouse wedding (in Santa Barbra) with my instax share printer.
I layered the “fairytale” die cut word, geotag, birds, and flag banner with 3-d foam adhesive over my photos and patterned paper.

To create the top and bottom paper piecing (or header & footer), I used the scraps from when I trimmed down the 6x8 paper and the manufacturer's strip of one of the 12x12 sheets. I then used the bow sticker to layer over the paper piecing.

I would have loved to have stitched the paper piecing, but since I don’t have my sewing machine I used tiny staples to give it a finished look.

Thanks for stopping by The Fairytale Club Blog today!

Adding Glitter Splatter with Carrie

Hello Everybody!  It's Carrie here with my first post using the gorgeous Hello Beautiful Kit, as well as my first post as an official design team member : )

Today I'm sharing a 6x12 layout that I've now placed directly into my 6x12 Project Life album for April. Yay!!  We recently did a little exploring here in Seattle, and I snapped a few photos from a visit to a lovely Japanese Garden.  The actual photo on the layout was taken just outside the gardens, but it is currently sitting next to photos from inside.  It was such a beautiful place to visit I'm already looking forward to going back!

To start out creating this layout I took the colorful striped sheet of 12x12 paper from the kit and cut it down to 6x12.  Then, I used some watered down Martha Stewart Crafts Pearl Paint and splattered it all over my paper using a paintbrush.  Before the paint dried I added this ultra fine iridescent glitter to the paint to create a "glitter splatter".  To keep the glitter from rubbing off once it dried I sprayed a clear archival sealer all over.  Works like a charm every time!

Next, I added my full size 4x6 inch photo directly onto the paper and popped it up using a rectangle piece of foam paper I trimmed to size using scissors.  Since the green in my photo was a different shade then the green on the paper it was an easy decision to place it there.

With my husband and daughter in the background of my flower photo I decided to use the "you are my favorite" die cuts from the phrase die cut pack.  I also popped them up but this time used foam adhesive.  I think having the pink words next to the pink paper creates pleasant movement for the eye, so that was another easy choice for me.

At this point I decided that the large butterfly from one of the planner inserts would be a great statement piece, so I fussy cut it out.  To add a little more interest to the butterfly I used yellow and lime green Stickels to color in a little here and there.  At first I was worried about there being too much glitter, but the background splatter is so subtle that it ended up working out just fine.

Before attaching the butterfly I ended up using embroidery thread along two lines at the top and one at the bottom of the layout.  To make the process as quick as possible, I used my speedy sewing machine to do the hard part of making the straight lines of holes in my paper.  Then, I just matched up the different shades of blue and yellow and embroidered while I watched some Netflix.  Because my layout is so busy but yet still somehow simple, adding in the matching thread adds that little extra element without it being too much.

To finish the page I added my butterfly, popping up the edge of the wings with foam adhesive and that's it!  All in all other than the photo, I think my favorite part of the layout is the glitter splatter.  I haven't used that technique in a while and I just love the way it pops through the different elements on the page.  I hope you enjoyed today's post, and I'll see you next time!

Design Team Reveal, Part 2!!!

Hello, and thanks for coming back for the second half of our new design team member introductions!

DT Reveal Spring 2018.jpg

Again, we are so thrilled so be working with these awesome, talented ladies!  Let's meet the rest of the team.

Carolee Flatley

Hi there! I'm Carolee. I'm a full time crafter and blogger originally from the east coast but now living in sunny LA with my hubby and two corgis. I come from a long line of crafty ladies, but I first got into Project Life back in 2013 and since then, my obsession's only grown! Right now, I focus mainly on planners and traveler's notebooks, but I dabble in just about everything. I also love Disney (including Marvel and Star Wars), animals but especially unicorns.

Aimee Maddern

Hi! I’m Aimee, a past owner of a scrapbook boutique who has a passion for paper & has way too much of it! I’m a thirty something newlywed, new home owner and mama to my little dog Jager.  I am a SoCal native who loves the sun, lattes, and of course shopping. I work from home, which allows me to travel with my family and their racecar. And while doing all of the above I end up collecting bits and pieces along the way!

Adeline Manchelle

I'm Adeline.  I'm French, 34 years old, mum of two pirates and married to my charming Prince. My life is full of boy things, so my wonderland world is pink and glitter!!! I love shopping and Disneyland. I discovered the scrap and planner world in 2015, and now it is an addiction. When I play with my planner I forget everything! It's my own time like I am in another world. What I love is watching Disney films during my planner time.

Lilly Sanchez

Hello! My name is Lilly, and I am a 39 yr old crafty Latina. I have a 17 year old teenage daughter who drives me insane, but I wouldn't  have it any other way. When I am not crafting I am working my full time job with a tile company showroom. I love interior designing so my job is a lot of fun to me, especially seeing these beautiful homes come to life. I have always been very artsy and creative growing up. I would make jewelry and do nails and all my friends' makeup for special occasions - as long as I was creating art I was a happy girl. I have always been obsessed with paper ever since I could remember. I would play teacher, and I even used to steal my mom's receipts from her purse and also take all the deposit slips when we would go to the bank! She would definitely make me take them back when she noticed though. ;-(

Now let's fast forward. In 2016 I decided to join in on the planner fun everyone was raving about. I did it all from buying every sticker and planner that came my way. It was so much fun to create layouts every single week and share them on instagram, but unfortunately after a short time I was really bored and not as excited anymore.

So one day I came across a YouTube video of a pocket letter that opened the door to this HUGE amazing community of crafting. Let's just say my journey has been amazing since then. I have been shown so much love, and my work has improved as time has gone by. I have met so many AMAZING people and have been given so many AMAZING opportunities such as being chosen to be part of The Fairytale Club design team! I am an absolutely huge fan of Andrea's work and all the color she uses on her designs. I am a huge lover of color myself, especially on my craft projects, so her work is definitely up my alley. I am truly so grateful. Crafting is a huge part of my life. It's my peace and my escape when the world becomes too much.

And here we are in 2018, and I create almost any happy mail and craft you can imagine. I have a beautiful following of so many great crafters and supporters - it's so humbling.  I love what I do and I love that my followers enjoy it as well. If you don't know who I am or my work I would love for you to check me out and let's be friends. I am "Craftingwithliller" all across the board - instagram, facebook, and youtube.. Hope to see you there!!!

Kellie Winnell

I'm the 35 year old girl from the land down under, Australia.  I wear the mum badge like a boss to three daughters. Laugh everyday with my husband. Coffee, craft/DIY, donuts/cake, iced-coffee, instagram, TV series, blogging and food in general are my addictions...  I've been into paper crafting for many years, but got serious with it when I discovered project life around 2012.  Since then I still document our weekly adventures, as well as an album on just little ol me.  While working on a bunch of side projects, because you can never have too many projects.

Andrea Bethke

Hi! My name is Andrea Bethke, and I am a scrappy Latina living in sunny Southern California who believes in unicorns and mermaids and all things magical.  In fact, I believe in fairytales, and you may know me as Fairytale Scrapbook on Instagram and Youtube! I am married to a super amazing, Prince Charming of a hubby named Ryan, and we live in a little house with a sweet Chihuahua-Terrier named Leeloo.

I love, love, love to create! It is incredibly important to me not just because I find it fun but because it literally helps me get through the day. In fact, you may not know this, but I have a rare condition called CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) which causes me to constantly be in pain...and often it's really, really bad or even excruciating pain. There is no cure and because of it I struggle with limited mobility, and I'm often stuck in bed. I get through it all with the help of my God, the truest of true love of my husband, and a whole lot of scrapbooking! Yes, I looooove scrapbooking. To me, it is not just a hobby, but something that has helped me work through the pain.

My motto is to live your life as a fairytale, which to me means that I want to live my life with courage and imagination and much love, the way they do in fairytales! I accomplish this by writing my own story with my own happily ever after!

My love of fairytales has not only had an impact on my motto but also on my scrappy style! I love the look of whimsical and beautiful things in scrapbooking. I am definitely very girly and I also love vintage things. I am very inspired by Disney, especially vintage Disney.

I am super duper excited to have started this new journey with The Fairytale Club!  It has been my dream for a long time to design my own scrapbook and planner collections, and I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to start my own company! I hope you will join me in being part of the club! I know it's going to be a wonderful fairytale adventure!

So now you know a lot about me... and in closing I just want to encourage you to live your life as a fairytale because I think we all have the opportunity to be the heroine of our own story and write our own happily ever afters

Michelle Abendroth

My name is Michelle, and I live in Memphis, Tennessee with my husband, and our two pets, Luna the dog, and Rocket the cat. Crafting was something that I never really chose. It was handed down to me by generations of women in my family, and I am happy to join them! Paper crafting allows for me to express myself using a medium that is very versatile. I love using stickers and paper crafting to plan my daily life, create keepsakes, and record memories for many years to come.

My top crafting faves are glitter, pastels, and all things whimsical, and that's why I love The Fairytale Club so much! All of their products are just so cute and have a touch of adorableness that separates them from others. I just can't wait to share my sparkles on these fairytale adventures!

Laura Allen

Hello everyone, I’m Laura Allen, a 26-year-old social worker living in the San Francisco Bay Area.  I have been playing with paper as long as I have been able to hold a pair of scissors, and in my free time you can often find me crafting away in my tiny studio apartment.  I’ve taught bookbinding and scrapbooking to youth of all ages and have seen the power of giving someone the tools to document their own story.   Currently, I am primarily a pocket page scrapbooker, but I’ve never known a papercraft I didn’t like.  I’m thrilled to be joining The Fairytale Club design team!

Dianna deForest

Hi there! My name is Dianna.  I’m a wife to my high schoolsweetheart, and we have two beautiful daughters. I can’t remember a time I wasn’t crafting! Paper crafts are my favorite.  Pretty paper, stickers, and trims make me happy.  I love the beach, and my favorite princess is Ariel.

Carrie Elias

Hi everybody! My name is Carrie Elias, and I am so excited to be on The Fairytale Club's Design Team!!  After having my daughter a couple years ago I took a little break from scrapbooking on a regular basis.  Before that, I had been on a couple local scrapbook design teams in San Diego (Anyone remember The Pink Pineapple or Pink Ninja Addicts?), had a craft blog called Bubblegum Life, and was obsessed with taking photos. Fast forward to now and I am still obsessed with photography but miss scrapbooking as well as the creative process and the finished product.  Andrea and I have actually been friends for a few years now and our mutual love for Disney and scrapbooking means that every time we get to chat or Skype we have a blast!  Now that she has this fantastic kit club with amazing designs and product, I knew this was the time to start scrapbooking again. I feel so lucky to be on the design team of someone that creates art for us to use that is so inspiring.  Not only does using Andrea's product remind me of the strength, struggles and beauty of life but makes me think of Disney and smile :) I'll see you all on Instagram and The Fairytale Club blog soon!  XO Carrie

Every single kit is a magical explosion of beautifully designed pieces with the most amazing color combinations and the prettiest ephemera pieces I ever did see. It is such an honor to be a part of this team, and I can't wait to create with these amazing products.

"Hello Beautiful!" Full Reveal

Hello there everyone! It's Andrea here and I am so excited today to be sharing with you the Full Reveal of our newest collection, "Hello Beautiful!" !!! Yaaaaaay!!!! I am super duper excited for this collection guys! It is just so special! So, with no further ado, let's dive right in and take a look at this gorgeous new collection/kit!

First, I want to talk a little bit about "Hello Beautiful!" as a whole - what inspired me and what it's all about.  So, the big inspiration here should be fairly obvious...I think you can probably guess that I was inspired a lot by my favorite fairytale princess, Snow White. I have loved the story of Snow White since I was little and to be honest, she has had a pretty big impact on my life and the person I strive to be. I love that Snow White is described as being beautiful on the inside as well as the out...that in fact, her outward appearance is merely a reflection of the good, kind, selfless, strong and courageous heart that lies within. This is what makes her truly beautiful..."the fairest of them all" even! And this is what I always want to focus on in my life, being a good person, having courage and helping others. I think I, and pretty much all of us, forget how very important those things are sometimes. Instead we focus on other things. And, like many other women, when I do focus on superficial things, like my outward appearance, I always seem to find fault and flaws. This is something I wanted to address with this collection as well...not just the importance of being beautiful on the inside, but also the importance of believing in oneself and feeling beautiful! And I wanted to talk about love with this collection, because love is what it all boils down too. What makes us be good and kind and courageous and selfless and strong...is always love. So love makes us beautiful. Loving others. But we also have to love ourselves, so that we can feel beautiful. Anyways, that is sort of the main theme or idea behind this collection, and why I wanted to call it "Hello Beautiful!", so as to remind myself and all of you too, how important it is to be your best self, inside and out, and also to recognize that wonderful self with a big, loud, resounding "Hello Beautiful"!

Okay, now that we have talked about the inspiration and the general theme...let's look at some of the specifics that make "Hello Beautiful!", so...well...beautiful! For instance, when you look at the collection as a whole, you can see that there is a lot of imagery that is very reminiscent of an enchanted forest. I love the idea of an "enchanted forest"...it is something that shows up a lot in fairytales in general and the story of Snow White is no different in that regard. There is a fores, which seems to be magical in some way...and at first that magic seems scary, or even evil...but then Snow White realizes that it is actually quite beautiful and whimsical, filled with adorable creatures and potential friends. I think this is probably some kind of metaphor for the real world, which is often scary and can even seem very bad and sad sometimes, but which is actually quite beautiful and filled with wonder and love! I wanted that version of the "enchanted forest" to shine through in this collection. I wanted you to feel that beauty and wonder! I also filled the collection with things that I thought would work for planning and documenting our real world, everyday lives...I used pretty and soft floral patterns, mixed with simple but bold graphic patterns that I know convey that "beauty within and without" kind of feeling that I hope you will see and feel as you plan, document, craft and create for your daily life!

Now, let's talk a bit about the color-scheme of "Hello Beautiful!"...I love it! And here is why...it has all these really beautiful shades of pink and also red, which of course I love because I am a super girly girl! But it also has these amazing greens which give that great "enchanted forest" kind of natural, great outdoors feeling which I am in love with right now.  And then on top of all that, there is a pop of yellow (and anyone who knows me knows that yellow is not really my fave color to be honest, but it is so great to have a splash of here and there because it makes the other colors pop more...and I do love that!). And perhaps most importantly, it has these really amazing blues! I love the color blue just as much as I love pink...and I am particularly in love with the royal blues that you find in this collection, they just make everything look so beautiful and fresh and magical! So basically, I just love this color-scheme so much! It is amazing and just gives you a good feeling that makes you smile!

Alright, now let's talk about the pattern papers in the collection. We will go through them one by one and I will talk a bit about why I think each one is so special. The first one I want to talk about is called "Hello Beautiful", just like the collection. It is perfectly named because it is so beautiful...gorgeous...lovely....stunning...pretty...really any adverb that you want to use for beautiful will do here in describing this patterned paper! I think it may be my new favorite paper ever! It is just so cool! The vines winding around and throughout the paper, with the bits of Snow White's story dripping from them...well it is just so visually engaging and alluring! You could fussy cut out individual pieces, or use it as a whole...and you could even frame it if you wanted to. And on the back is a great and super versatile simple white ledger which is perfect for journaling.

Hello Beautiful - 01 - Hello Beautiful.jpg

Another one of my favorite patterned papers is called "Fairest". I love it! It has that gorgeous, bright, bold royal blue in the background and then this adorable floral on top! Super cute! And on the back, a simple and oh so useful, little white and black polka dot!

Now lets look at "Kindness". It is a really beautiful blue on blue pattern paper which is just filled with butterflies! I love butterflies! And on the back is a great white and black diamond pattern that feels both modern and vintage!

"Happy" is another fave pattern of mine and it is this awesome striped paper that has almost all the colors in this collection running across (or down) it...in a kind of ombre style. It sure does make my happy...so it is aptly named! And on the back is a fabulous, geometric, vintage pink pattern!

I also really love the pattern called "Bashful", which is the one with the little deer and bunny on it! Super duper adorable and lovely! And on the back is a really sublime and relaxing blue on blue graphic pattern that is super versatile!

"The Enchanted Forest" is a pattern with lots of gorgeous roses on it...and lots of pink and red...yay! It is perfect for fussy cutting for sure and I love the ombre effect in the background. Then, on the back of this paper is an awesome medallion pattern that has leaves and flowers on it and frankly both sides work together beautifully to just scream "enchanted forest"!

I really love the pattern "Fairytales" too because it is so simple but so elegant! It is a tiny pink floral pattern that almost looks embroidered on top of a pretty green background. And on the back is an amazing ledger...which you can also read, beginning to end and which talks about fairytales and what they are all about!

"A Beautiful Day" is one of our signature cut-apart sheets. We always do at least two cut-apart sheets in our collections and I love all of them but I especially love this one! It has lots of references to beauty and love on it...and tons of cute and pretty graphics...but I also really enjoy the little joke about apples on it! And on the back is a rich green on green geometric pattern.

And finally there is "Sleepy", which has tons of great 3x4 cards and 4x6 ones too...but my favorite may be the one that says "mornings are evil" on it...let's just say I am not a morning person. And on the back is a fantastic pink and red graphic pattern.

Alright, now lets talk about the embellishments in this collection. First, let's take a look at the ephemera pack. We always do an ephemera pack and they are so loved and popular because of all the cool stuff that come inside each pack! This one is no different...it is filled with gorgeous images! It has cute little animals like my little fawn with the flower in her hair, and my sweet little bunny! It has birds and butterflies and plants and flowers and lots of references to nature and natural beauty. It has bows and hearts and labels and tags and even a cool letter! Plus, it of course has a crown, a fairytale book, and a framed pic of a very beautiful girl..."the fairest of them all" you might say!

After we sold out of the words ephemera pack from our "Everyday Wishes" collection...I knew I had to do a words ephemera pack again! So this time, for "Hello Beautiful!" I added in a whole lot of color and some beautiful florals as well!

Alright, not lets look at the Flair Buttons in the collection. I love flair buttons! I just think they are so useful and perfect to add dimension. I also am in love with making them into cute little decorative paperclips! And the ones in this collection are just so cute...especially the little deer one and the pretty pink rose!

Now let's talk about stickers! The Sticker Sheet in "Hello Beautiful!" has tons of pretty stickers on it! I particularly enjoy all the birds, the labels, and that super cute little cottage!

Alright, now that we have gone over all of the embellishments, lets talk Planner Dividers! I love all these planner dividers so much! And because I was so inspired with this collection's theme...I decided to add in a couple extra goodies with this planner set...(i.e. a couple super-double-sided planner pages).

This planner divider is so pretty and just one of my favorite quotes from a certain, beautiful and kind princess!

This planner divider is my favorite I think...just love this framed little lady with the flowers in her hair and the sweet, happy look on her face!

This divider is so cool...with perhaps the best quote ever on it! Look at it and remind yourself that you are "the fairest of them all" just like it says!

Love the big bold rose planner divider....pink roses always make me smile!

This quote is one of my faves too! I know its true and really important to remember!

I love this planner divider too! The little blue birds are so cute and clearly so in love!

This is one of the special super-double-sided planner dividers...because it has a cool decorative front on both sides basically...as opposed to a simple pattern on the back. I love both sides of this one. The butterfly that reminds you to "be yourself" because yourself is beautiful like a butterfly. Oh...and I especially love the side that says "mornings are evil" with the sweet florals on it...it just looks like something I would want to embroider on a pillow!  Once again...I am not a morning person.

The planner divider that says "Hello Beautiful" has an amazing crown on it that is perfect for you because you are "the fairest of them all"!

Love this special super-double-sided planner divider too...one side has an important quote about beauty on it, and the other says "you are my favorite"!

And this little deer and bunny are of course, a huuuuge fave of mine as well! I love this planner divider! It is just too cute for words!

Here is my lovely cloche planner divider...with the cool little mini garden or "terrarium" on the inside, and underneath it says "a beautiful day"...so elegant and enchanting!

And finally, here is a super funny and awesome planner divider that starts our with the "some day when spring is here..." quote from Snow White...but ends by making it clear that no spring-cleaning will be going on in my house if I can help it! I hate house-work! That is one thing Snow and I definitely don't have in common!

And finally, for this collection, we decided to try something new and ado a Vellum Sheet! We have done transparencies before but never vellum and I am so excited to try this out! It is a gorgeous gold-foiled on vellum floral pattern and I love it!

Alright, that is all for our newest collection/kit "Hello Beautiful!" I can't say enough good things about this collection! I really put my heart in it, and I hope that that comes across and that it inspires you to feel beautiful and create beautiful things!!!  It's available to purchase now!  Yay!  Hugs everyone!!!

A "Shaker" Layout using "Happy Day", with Andrea

Hello Everyone! It's Andrea here and today I want to share with you a lovely and fun layout that I did using the "Happy Day" kit/collection! I love "Happy Day"! It is so cute and filled with just such beautiful colors, patterns and images! So of course, it has been really fun for me to create with! I decided that one of the things I wanted to make with this collection for sure, was a cool "shaker" layout! I've made a layout like this once or twice before and it is just so much fun...so let me share with you what I did and what a "shaker" layout is!

01-Fairytale-Love-LO.jpg

So basically, a "shaker" layout is what it sounds like...it's like a "shaker" card or tag or page in a planner...it is a layout that you can shake and there are sequins in the background that move around! It is one of my favorite new things to do, to make things that can "shake" like that with the sequins. And you make these cute "shaker" pieces, with lots of sequins, of course, and also a transparency or vellum, so that you can see the sequins when you shake them. Because "Happy Day" has such a really awesome, simple but graphic, gold-foiled transparency in it, I knew for sure I had to use it for some "shaking"! :-)

02-Fairytale-Love-LO.jpg

I created my layout by first using some of the gorgeous patterned paper for the background or "frame" of the layout. I chose something bold and colorful and graphic. Then, on top of that, cut just a little bit smaller, I used a simple sheet of white cardstock. I wanted to make sure the sequins had a simple white background that they would stand out against. On top of the white cardstock I poured my sequins out. I used a lot, and spread them around for a really glittery and exuberant, happy look! And then, on top of the sequins, in order to make the "shaking effect, I planned to use my transparency, to sandwich the sequins in.

06-Fairytale-Love-LO.jpg

However, before I laid my transparency down on top and stitched around the edges to close things up, I decided to add some more interest and variety to the inside of my "shaker" part of my layout, by adding in some die-cuts here and there from the ephemera pack in the kit.

08-Fairytale-Love-LO.jpg

I chose some of the little hearts and stars and words...also some other images like a flower and a milkshake...to use as part of the "shaking" background with all the sequins. Once I had those larger pieces in the position I wanted, I simply adhered them down with a little bit of adhesive to make sure those bigger pieces didn't move upon shaking. I also adhered down some of my sequins, here and there. This is a good tip when you are creating anything that shakes like this because it will make certain that things still shake, but certain areas that are prominent and that you know you always want to have at least some coverage upon shaking, will stay in place. This just tends to make things look a little nicer, in my opinion.

07-Fairytale-Love-LO.jpg

Once I got everything how I wanted it on the inside of my "shaker" part of my layout, I then went ahead and sandwiched things in with the transparency page and sewed it all down. I used a zig-zag stitch on my sewing machine, along the periphery of the transparency, to make sure to close everything up.

Then, on top of my "shaker", back portion of my layout, I placed my photo. I chose a really fun, cute picture of my husband, Ryan, and I smooching with our Minnie and Mickey ears on, at Toon Town in Disneyland!  Underneath the picture, I used the ephemera word die-cut pieces that said "fairytale" and "love", to create my title, "fairytale love".

And then to wrap things up, I used a couple vintage buttons from my stash, and one of the beautiful flair pieces in the kit to add just a little more dimension in the bottom corner of the layout. At the top, I added a simple paperclip. And that was all! I didn't want to add anymore layering or any other embellishments because the background "shaker" part of the layout is really very elaborate and eye-catching...so you want to keep things fairly simple on top when you are creating a layout like this.

Alright, well, I think this layout turned out beautiful! It is so much fun and just a cool and fresh idea for a layout! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it and that is inspires you to do a whole lot of shaking in your papercrafting creations...whether that is for planners, cards, or a fun layout like mine! Hugs everyone! Oh, and if you haven't gotten your "Happy Day" kit yet, get it now...purchase it or subscribe today! :-)
